Aujourd’hui, le temple est protégé par l’UNESCO avec des travaux de restauration et d’entretien continus pour garder le temple au meilleur de sa forme. profitant de l'atmosphère sereine et spirituelle qui semble avoir infiltré chaque rocher via. En regardant les collines et les forêts qui vous entourent, il n’est pas difficile d’imaginer ce que les explorateurs ont dû ressentir lorsqu’ils ont trébuché hors de la forêt en 1814 pour trouver une telle vue perdue pour le monde pendant près de 500 ans.

Passez 2 heures à explorer Prambanan. Prambanan est le plus grand temple hindou d'Indonésie ainsi que l'un des plus beaux temples d'Asie du Sud-Est. Selon l'inscription de la plaque de Siwargha, le temple a été construit sous le règne de Rakai Pikatan (milieu du IXe siècle) de l'ancien royaume de Mataram. Voir les trois temples décorés de reliefs illustrant l'épopée du Ramayana, dédiés aux trois grandes divinités hindoues (Shiva, Vishnu et Brahma) et trois temples dédiés aux animaux qui les servent. Après avoir fini d'explorer Prambanan, vous retournerez à votre hôtel, vous aurez la possibilité de vous arrêter pour déjeuner sur le chemin du retour.

This tour is perfectly organized and communication with this organization is top notch. In the morning we were picked up by our driver Bima and we had a very nice and educational day! Bima could tell us super much about the area and has taken all the worries off our hands. A very well run & organised trip. I had Maxi as my driver for the day, who met me at 6am and gave a lowdown of the day and Yogyakarta in general. We headed to a small temple en route to Borobudur where Maxi gave me a personal tour full of knowledge & jokes. Following this a quick pitstop for coffee & any breakfast snacks needed before heading into Borobudur. A full tour guide experience, in a pair of rather comfortable pandan shoes. Maxi looked after my stuff during the tour and met me afterwards. He adapted the tour to meet my breakfast needs, a nasi goreng & spicy sambal. Then we had a relaxed journey to Prambanan temple where Maxi turned tour guide again. He gave me a full explanation of the history and setting of the temple, while guiding me to expert photospots. Ending with a short walk to the Buddhist temples at Prambanan, we topped up with water and Maxi drove me back to my hotel. 5/5, would highly recommend doing this tour and definitely ask for Maxi! I will pass on his details to my friends when they come to Yogyakarta. Oh and a cold towel was waiting for me each time I got in the car, champion tour guide.
