This was our second experience with Muzaffar ji, the first one being in December 2022. Once again, we had a delightful experience - Muzaffar ji was punctual, professional, and unhurried throughout the day. He meticulously curated our itinerary based on our requirements, and regaled us with authentic information about each of the places that we visited. Our tour commenced at 12 noon, and was scheduled to end at 5 pm, but we finished off at 6.30 pm. Had it not been for the fact that we were tired, we would probably have gone on even further! Our tour date was March 23, 2025, and Kolkata streets were free of traffic on account it being a Sunday! We started off by visiting Mother Teresa's House, and Muzaffar offered us numerous facets that were hitherto unknown to us. Thereafter, we had an excellent tour of South Park Street Cemetery and Victoria Memorial. We ambled across to St. Paul Cathedral. From there, we took an iconic but ramshackle Ambassador taxi to College Street, where we visited Hindu College (now Presidency University), and saw the place where Derozio used to teach. We had an excellent lunch at Indian Coffee House, soaking in the ambience of the place. A visit to this place is highly recommended. Muzaffar ji offered us a visit to the Jain Temple, but we passed it up in order to have a dekko at Tagore's House (Jorasanto Thakurbari). Pity, we could not take a look because the keepers of this museum simply decided to close early on a whim that day, being a Sunday. We more than made up for it by having a soothing boat ride at the renovated Princep Ghar, which also has its very own railway station! Tours offered by Tour de Kolkata are personalized as per one's interests, and are very reasonably priced too. The host is very friendly, respectful, and well-mannered. He speaks excellent English and French, apart from several foreign languages, and Hindi and Bengali. We look forward to another tour with Tour de Kolkata!

Sunday is a great day to do this tour. Everything is a little less manic. Our guide, Muzaffar, is very passionate about Kolkata and it shines through. We walked, taxied, bussed, ferried and moto rickshawed our way round the city for about 5 hours. The flower market, an assault on all the senses, was brilliant. The clay statues village was another, only in Kolkata, experience. Great coffee house at the end too.

This was a fantastic tour! Muzaffar was an excellent guide, with a great deal of knowledge about the history of Kolkata. No question we asked on the tour was too much for him! We had a great time at each of the stops on the tour, and Muzzafar was great at offering to take photos, giving us more time when at certain stops and providing snacks and refreshments along the way.
