Description
Cette visite est guidée par quelqu'un qui est né et a grandi à Rocinha et a passé plus d'une décennie à parcourir ces rues avec les visiteurs. La différence n’est pas l’accès pour la nouveauté, mais le contexte. Au lieu d'arrêts scénarisés ou de cadrages dramatiques, l'accent est mis sur le fonctionnement réel de la favela : son agencement, ses routines quotidiennes, sa dynamique sociale et son histoire en tant que quartier vivant. Le parcours suit des lieux qui ont du sens localement, guidés par la familiarité plutôt que par la performance. Parce qu'il s'agit d'une expérience guidée localement, en petits groupes, la visite se déroule à un rythme humain. Les questions sont les bienvenues, les conversations sont ouvertes, et les explications proviennent de l'expérience vécue, pas de la recherche de seconde main ou des récits répétés. Il ne s'agit pas de vendre le danger, la pauvreté ou le spectacle. Il s’agit de comprendre Rocinha telle qu’elle est, guidée par quelqu’un qui a sa place ici.

Itinéraire
Après avoir rencontré le guide touristique, il y aura un bref exposé initial sur le fonctionnement de la visite, les réponses aux questions et les règles de base. Après cela, les touristes feront une visite guidée éducative à pied tout en bas, avec des endroits OPTIONNELS pour faire des achats de souvenirs (qui servent de dons à la Favela), déjeuner dans un restaurant familial local et de nombreux beaux endroits pour prendre des photos. Rappel : La visite est EXCLUSIVEMENT en anglais.

An Eye-Opening and Truly Authentic Experience in Rocinha Favela. I felt completely safe the entire time. Luiz was attentive, stayed with us closely, and made sure the small group of 6 moved smoothly.
My partner and I did this tour with Luiz a while ago and it is one of the best experiences I remember from Brazil. We were looking for a guided walk and led by a local person to learn for real. I highly recommend it!!

Our guide was so informative and nice to tour with. He even asked if we would wait a little for another couple who were running late. We waited and waited but in the end we had to leave. I believe the lady became very abusive on text and this was so unfair to our guide as we all waited for some time. It was their duty to turn up on time like we did. Anything she says in a review I would ignore, it is unjustified! He is brilliant, kind and patient.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone staying in Rio. We were a bit hesitant booking this tour but our guide luiz put our minds at rest and opened our eyes on life in a favela. I guarantee you will truly see what life is really like instead of what the films show you! I'd recommend doing a favela tour with a local guide, luiz was very knowledgeable and open to answering any questions we had. Thanks luiz!
