Visite à pied de 3 heures de Rocinha Favela avec un Guide local

Description

Martin was a gem of a guide, navigating conversations in English, French, Spanish, and Portuguese to meet the needs of a diverse group. He helped us safely navigate the favela, took us to great vantage points and through tight alleyways. We got to interact with some residents, play some soccer, meet some artists, and come to appreciate all that the favelas are, while also learning about how they operate and their history. Thanks for a wonderful, eye-opening tour, Martin!
I thought that going to a Favela would be very intimidating. However, the reality is something else. Yes some hard facts were told to us before going but it was an experience that I thoroughly enjoyed and would recommend to anyone who has not been. Preconceived ideas are not always what you see in reality and the people of Brazil are very friendly.
Great tour by an experienced and caring guide who took great care of us. From crossing busy roads to knowing feet placement - yes, cobbled streets are not for everyone. We had an informatiive glance into another society. It was an eye opener to how marginalized groups survive. Notwithstanding do the tour if you desire an up close and personal review. Just be respectful. Also when you are haggling for Nickle, dimes, euros etc…just remember who you are most impacting because we get to return to our comfortable lives. Buy local if you can on the tour. Its supporting the community 😊
The guide can actually make a big difference and so she did, my guide was just perfect she took us throughout a lot of places I never thought of… amazing experience.
It was an intresting experience, safety, to a famous favela Rocinha. Our local guide, Johnny, grew up in the favela and knew all the best location. Becouse of late time scheduled tour (after 17), we couldnt see any capoeira dance, but next time one must think about that also. I strongly recomand it, its giving you the possibility to think out of the box.
Ray was a great guide, she was engaging and explained everything and addressed questions in perfect English. I did this same tour with this company 6 years ago and got even better, now we had access to more “reserved areas” monitored by the armed gangs. The community protects the safety of its citizens and the tourists, as that’s the way it flourishes. We felt super safe and got a real feel of the life in the favela, the market, the streets and local businesses. All went smoothly from top to finish and on time. Beautiful community, I recommend you go see the the real Rio at Rocinha!
Amazing experience, very interesting tour and 100% recommended. Our guide Rose took great care of us, the explanations and walking tour were great and overall this is a great value for money tour
Great tour and chance to see the favela. We felt safer here than copacabana. Funny and welcoming guide, would strongly recommend
It’s was great an eye opening experience.
The guides were the best. We had Joae as the main guide. He took his time ended up spending 5 hours there going right through the area. Really great experiemce.
Thank you so much for your kind review! We're delighted to hear that you had such a great experience with João and the team. João is passionate about sharing the real Rocinha with our visitors, and we're glad his dedication made your tour so special. Spending extra time to ensure guests get a deeper understanding of the community is something he truly enjoys. Thank you for choosing our tour, and we hope to welcome you back to Rio de Janeiro in the future! Best regards, The Favela Tour Team
