La Sainte Sophie "Haghia Sophia" signifie en grec "la sagesse divine", est une extraordinaire réalisation architecturale du 6è siècle. Bâtie par Anthémios de Tralles et Isodore de Millet, elle fut inaugurée par Justinien et sa femme Théodora (537). Ce chef d'oeuvre byzantin possède de splendides mosaïques à fond d'or et de marbres de couleurs. Justinien pour la construction du dôme avait commandé à Rhodes des briques d'une terre si légère que douze d'entre elles ne pesaient pas plus qu'une brique ordinaire, elles portaient l'inscription suivante : "C'est Dieu qui l'a fondée, Dieu lui portera secours". Les ottomans l'avaient transformée en mosquée, puis en 1935 elle devint un musée.
La Mosquée Bleue (1609-1616) est l'une des mosquées les plus connues du monde avec six minarets, elle doit son nom aux carreaux de céramiques (20000 environ) d'Iznik (Nicée) à dominante bleue qui en tapissent les murs intérieurs.
Le Palais de TOPKAPI possède 4 cours diffèrentes, il s'installait sur 70ha avant la construction du réseau ferroviaire et était la résidence des sultans jusqu'au 19è siècle. Durant 4 siècles il fût le centre administratif de l'Empire Ottoman. Le Palais abritait le siège du DIVAN, le principal organe du pouvoir. Son immense cuisine, quant à elle, nourrissait entre 4 à 5 mille personnes par jour. Aujourd'hui la cuisine accueille une collection de porcelaine chinoise et japonaise. Son fameux trésor, avec le diamant de 86 carats "kasikçi", les chandeliers en or décorés de diamants, les trônes du sultan sont des témoins de la riche histoire de l'empire. Dans la 3ème cour du palais se trouve la salle des reliques du prophète Mohammed, c'est un lieu saint pour les musulmans. Les kiosques de la 4ème cour complètent cette beauté architecturale du palais. Sur ces terrasses, on a une vue imprenable sur la Corne d'or et le Bosphore.
Une réserve d'eau du sixième siècle avec 336 colonnes et un volume de 90.000 m³.

Our week in Istanbul would not have been so rich in discoveries without Mustafa's company. This guide is passionate and makes the tours very interesting and enjoyable. I had selected places I wanted to see. There were both the main tourist sites and less popular neighborhoods. Mustafa has concocted a beautiful tour route with incredible places that would have been inaccessible to us without his company. Many thanks to Mustapha. A nice meeting I highly recommend. Our extended weekend in Istambul would have been so poor without the company of this Mustapha guide. Mustapha is passionate and makes visits very interesting and very pleasant. Back from SRI LANKA and MALDIVES we stopped for 3 nights and 2 days in Istamboul. We were 4 and we spent these 2 days on the old town with Mustapha. Its strengths: punctuality, availability, listening to its customers, adapting to the pace of customers, speaking perfect French and very in-depth knowledge of the history and culture of its country. Besides, in the big bazaar, he avoided tourist routes to take us to the "local part" and show us "real life". If you can, for the cruise on the Bosphorus I recommend the option "private boat" which in addition to the longer duration (+/- 1 hour) also allows to take full advantage of the knowledge of Mustapha. This guide has passionate us to the point that we will go again to Istamboul and certainly then to Cappadocia and we will use his services at that time. I recommend you 200%!!!
