Pompéi est indéniablement le site archéologique le plus important au monde. Une ville entière parfaitement préservée, comme elle l'était en 79 après J.-C., lorsqu'une formidable éruption du volcan voisin, le mont Vésuve, l'a ensevelie sous une épaisse couche de cendres et de lapilli. Pompéi est très différent de tout autre site archéologique dans le monde. Il y a des ruines antiques à Rome, en Grèce, en Égypte, en Amérique centrale et dans d'autres endroits merveilleux de la planète, mais dans aucun de ceux-ci, à l'exception de Pompéi, vous ne pouvez encore vous promener dans les anciennes rues d'origine et les trouver aussi animées qu'elles l'étaient à l'époque. Vous pouvez vous promener dans les mêmes maisons où les gens vivaient, dans les mêmes temples où ils priaient et être dans les mêmes endroits où ils travaillaient et où ils s'amusaient. Vous pouvez même encore voir les traces de leurs voitures laissées sur la surface de la route ; les tuyaux dans lesquels coulait l'eau potable; et enfin, les corps « pétrifiés » des victimes de l'éruption.

Nous visiterons les édifices publics les plus importants (théâtres, temples, thermes, etc.) et attirerons votre attention sur certaines des boutiques romaines les plus traditionnelles comme la thermopolia - ancêtre des fast-foods modernes - et le pistrinum - l'équivalent romain de une boulangerie. La ville de Pompéi est aussi bien connue pour la magnificence de ses demeures dont les noms sont renommés dans le monde entier : la Maison de Ménandre, la Maison du Faune, la Maison des Vettii, la Maison de Caecilius Iucundus et bien d'autres Suite. Nous serons dans certaines de ces habitations fantastiques et nous marcherons également dans la "Via dell'Abbondanza" (la rue principale), le Forum (la place principale de la ville) et le célèbre "quartier rouge" et ses peintures murales suggestives. Enfin, un accent particulier sera mis sur les pauvres victimes de l'éruption, apparaissant comme des corps pétrifiés.

Having booked previously we booked the POMPEII trip and once again received a fantastic tour with Francesco, a different tour guide, but again a fantastic overview of the POMPEII site and the Vesuvius eruption. Personally for me the small group tour or in this case we were lucky to have a private tour is essential, the knowledge and more importantly where to go is a must have - the site is massive and technically you could wander around looking at a load of "old bricks" and get lost - the guided tour therefore a must IMO and with this tour company you will get an excellent tour of the sites.

It was a bit disappointed that the tour operator texted me 2 days before the tour predict no other participants for our tour and advised us to switch to a private tour with another additional payment of $60. Including requirement to buy our own entry truckers, it costed us much more than planned to visited the attraction “Pompeii Ruins”.
Dear visitor, it’s specified in the tour description that the tour is canceled if the minimum number of participants has not been met as well as it specified that the entry tickets are not included. We texted you only 2 days before the tour to wait as much as possible for new bookings, and we believe that 2 days are long enough to let you arrange the tour with a different tour operator if our tour is canceled. Moreover, we proposed a solution and you accepted, a full refund would have been much easier and cheaper for us and, honestly, it's now sad to hear that this solution didn't make you happy. We apologize if you don't consider your experience with us worthy of a 5-star review, but we are sure it’s due to misunderstanding.
Francesco did a wonderful job. He made an amazing place even more interesting with his explanations of the sights. He had an informed answer for every question we had. Not to mention, he gave us great advice about other places to visit in the area. I will choose his services every time I bring a group to the area.
