Our private tour of Pompeii with Italo was absolutely fantastic and easily one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. We spent two hours exploring some of Pompeii’s most fascinating and important sites, and Italo made the entire place come alive. His knowledge was incredible, but what really set him apart was how he shared it, he was engaging, funny, and full of great stories rather than simply reciting facts. He gave us a real sense of what everyday life was like in Pompeii nearly 2,000 years ago. We were traveling with our kids, and Italo was wonderful with them. If you're touring Pompeii, ask for Italo. His passion for the place was obvious from the start, and it made the whole tour so much fun. By the end, we could actually identify the different types of buildings ourselves, which felt awesome. We never once felt rushed. Visiting Pompeii Archaeological Park was already on my bucket list, but this tour made the experience unforgettable. Our guide wasn't just a tour guide—he is a renowned archaeologist who has worked on the Pompeii excavations for decades. Learning directly from someone who has dedicated so much of his career to uncovering and studying this incredible ancient city brought history to life in a way no guidebook or audio tour ever could. His knowledge, passion, and storytelling transformed every street, home, and artifact into a fascinating piece of history. We had a transportation issue and we almost had to cancel, but they were able to accommodate the group, which is more than kind of them. Truly a gem! If you truly want to understand Pompeii and not just walk through it, this is the tour to book. Great guide who was excellent with children and explaining history in a fun way for all ages. She was absolutely great! I loved that she avoided the large groups and kept us in more intimate areas as to not feel overwhelmed or overheated.
