Description

the experience was incredible and absolutely worth the money. henry was extremely communicative from beginning to end, and the trip felt more like a fun day trip with friends rather than a guided tour. the hikes were not very hard, and the views were breathtaking! we saw some cute sloths and lots of wildlife, learnt about wildlife conservation efforts in brasil as well as the history of the park. it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and henry was a wonderful guide (with highkey based political takes). absolutely recommend :D lastly - shout out to fernando fr - i dont think i would've booked this had i not checked the reviews and read henry's response. that drama lowkey hooked me and my friend.
You two were lots of fun! So is nice meeting someone from NY, who has good energy in vibes. Come back and visit next year! 😂🇧🇷

Thank you!! ✨️
The tour was absolutely breathtaking, the tour is different what the usually big operators offer. Excellent trip with a guide with so much knowledge and the employees were incredibly nice, welcoming, and professional throughout the entire trip. They made us feel completely safe and comfortable. Highly recommended!
Angelina thank you!! Its our objective here in the forest. No Jeep tours, minimal impacts as we LOVE mãe natureza and we want her to be around for future generations. Thank you again for joining and it was such a pleasure meeting you and your friends! Safe travels!!
This tour was 100% worth it! We are a family of 4 my youngest 9 and oldest 17. If you enjoy hiking and being surrounded by nature, this is definitely the tour to choose. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating history, fun facts, and insights throughout the experience. We explored several trails and waterfalls, and were lucky enough to see a few monkeys and a toucan along the way. Even if you don't spot wildlife, the tour is still absolutely worth it for the scenery alone. One of the highlights was reaching the top of the mountain, where the views were truly spectacular. The hike can be a bit challenging, but that's part of the adventure. The guide gave everyone the option to skip some areas if they preferred, but in the end, everyone decided to continue because it felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking
Isabelle, thank You so much for this wonderful review! I'm really glad that you enjoyed the experience, and had a great time. As I tell everyone our focus is doing fun, impactful tourism that really let's you see the city in a way that generic tourism just doesn't. That's why we don't work with Jeep Tours, No feeding animals and focus on knowledge and nature. Once again thank you very much and safe travels for you and your família maravilhoso! Grande abraço!
We had a very knowledgeable and super friendly tour guide with Henry. Despite pick-up location outside the usual zone, he picked us up from the hotel.
Thank You!!! I also very much appreciate your flexibility with an earlier pickup. Super nice to meet you!
Don’t hesitate to book with Experience Rio and Henry! Have no hesitation booking with Experience Rio when visiting Rio, Henry really made our trip and couldn’t thank him enough! Unlike other tour operators, Henry is 100% genuine and is looking out for you, trying to save you money and make your trip the best it could be. We booked trips for every day we were in Rio like Maracana Flamengo game, Vidigal Favela tour, Tijuca and waterfalls, the Ilha Grande private boat tour. We also took Henry’s advice to complete our own trips at times too like Christ the Redeemer and Escadaria Selarón where a guide isn’t necessary, it was really refreshing for someone to give advice and not just want to take your money which made us feel at ease from the start. Henry was great with all of our family including our children, a shout out to his brother Charlie too who accompanied us on the trips. Tijuca and waterfalls - Henry is always honest and unfortunately some of the park was closed on the day of our tour (this is Brazil so was only announced the night before and we were due to be collected at 6am the next day) so he contacted us the night before and he made it an even better experience than we’d imagined! He took us on a route where we didn’t see anyone else, climbing some great trails and rock faces to reach a secluded waterfall that we enjoyed a nice dip in. After that we walked towards the top of the park and to Vista Chinesa, what a view!! We saw toucan and monkeys on the walk too amongst other wildlife which was awesome, then due to the park closure Henry drove us to another spot where we took a hike to Pedra Bonita which was again super impressive, what fantastic views from up there.
What a incredible review Clark!! Thank you so much and it was an absolute pleasure taking you and your beautiful family around Rio de Janeiro!
Really nice forest hikes with Henry who was a down to earth and genuine person. His history of being a gringo in Rio and spending time there was very interesting and he had a passion for the forests and environment. A great day spent.
Thank you so much! I definitely love the forest and nature, so i'm glad you noticed. I do wish that more people would join our tour instead of all the generic ones that exist. Hehe. Maybe one day! Thank you guys for booking and spending the day with me!
Excellent Tijuca tour with Henry today. Plenty of hikes and vistas in our six hour tour, with pick up and drop off provided. Excellent communication from our guide right through to our pick up. Henry is a really passionate guide, with terrific insight into the sights and sounds within the park as well as suggestions to make your stay a memorable one in Rio.
Hi there! Thank you so much for this wonderful review. It was an absolute pleasure taking you along and come back soon for some more tours and experiences 🙃
Our small group comprised my wife, me and one other lady, which was excellent.... we received a lot of information about the Tijuca Forest - plants, animals and history; we also benefited from a lot of first-hand information about living in Rio / Brazil and the love-hate relationship that many people, including our guide has, with the country. I really would recommend this trip to anyone interested in a more intimate tour exploring areas where the main stream tours don't get to, but do stress that you need a reasonable level of fitness to hike up some of the vantage points. We are both early 60s and hike a lot (my wife has a few knee issues) but found it fine. P.S. bring a change of clothes or swimsuit; the waterfalls are amazing.
Thank you guys for the review. It's always appreciated! I just want to state one thing, when I talk about the issues here, its specifically of Rio and the laws regarding our environment and its protection "or lack of it". Jeep tours, no investment, massive groups (not good for the environment) all this contributes to the degradation of our incredible nature and parks. Just wanted to clear that up. I also appreciate you letting others know that this is definitely a hiking tour and physical ability is a must. We aren't climbing mount everest but we are definitely in the moutains. Safe travels to you both, I hope you have a wonderful time in Paraty!
Beautiful forest. However, hiking trails are poorly indicated
Hi, Can you please confirm that you joined our tour specifically? Because we have no record of this in the our booking history.... if so can be you be more specific to why you are giving 4 stars and not 5? Knowing why helps us improve, giving a rating less than 5 stars without stating why is unfortunate..... Yes trails aren't marked well, this is why people use guides. Can you imagine trying to navigate yourself? That said I'm 99% sure you are just trying to review the park and not our tour. Randonnée means hiking in French, which makes sense since you were complaining about the signs. Next time book a tour with us (@Experience.Rio)
