This was a wonderful day trip introducing this charming part of Rio to my partner. The guide was knowledgeable and helpful, the tour just right for the group members. Thank you
Very enjoyable trip-beautiful buildings and area. The pImperial palace was wonderful. Both driver and guide were great Clinton and Clinton!
From the beginning, everything was very well organized as they picked us up directly at the hotel, which was super convenient. Our guide, Cris, was absolutely wonderful; Mama Cris was extremely kind, attentive, and was always mindful of us and every detail of the group. The tour itself is beautiful, and we visited stunning places, such as the old Imperial Palace and the residence where the last imperial family spent their vacations. Additionally, the food was delicious at a local buffet-style restaurant, and to top it all off, we had chocolates at Katz, which is a lovely place. It truly is a very beautiful experience that is well worth it and is enjoyed from start to finish, so I recommend it with my eyes closed. ✨
I was in lobby when the guy came and called my name. He then called four other people. When we started to leave, he told me that I would be with a different guide and did not let me get on the bus. The other four people got on the bus and left. I waited about 40 minutes and called the tour operator. He told me that the tour had been canceled. That is not true because I saw everybody leave without me. I believe they canceled me because I was a solo traveler. Now I have to fight to get my money back. If they had canceled me, I would have received a refund, but they are not giving me a refund as of today.
The tour company I was travelling with also offered a day trip to Petropolis without lunch and at a higher cost. More importantly, there were no reviews to bank on. Therefore, I opted for this trip. The group was of 20 odd people essentially Spanish speaking with just a few of us relying on the English guide, resultantly got very personal attention. The buffet lunch was excellent with unlimited helpings. All I all, I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. It was a day well spent. Highly recommended!
Well organised, guide spoke 3 languages and was always conscious to ensure all were included, well informed on the history and culture of the area, very reasonably priced, highly recommend
Being at the pick up place at the indicated time, they never arrived for us. It is very difficult to communicate with anyone and since we were able to communicate we are told that the Tour had been cancelled, but we were never advised that it was cancelled. Lousy service.
This was something off the beaten path. Almost a 2 hour drive to Petropolis. Very good tour if you have the time but not an essential tour but very nice!
Reading the reviews with mama chris, we expected a nice tour. Well, no mama chris and no good tour. Alex is not fluent in English. Spanish, Portuguese as well as English he tried to cover. First of all we spent over an hour picking up individuals at hotels-and stopping for Alex to get a coffee. The bus was hot, the bathroom stop was at a place with no running water. At the museum, i did not feel comfortable leaving my purse in the bus. Alex told me flippantly that i couldn’t take it and that i didn’t have to go in if i didn’t want to. I refused to leave my purse (honestly the whole tour seemed sketch). He then told me i could take my purse and leave it in a locker there. Duh-anyone who has traveled knows museums have lockers. So then to lunch. We were all to meet Alex in front-and he was at least 10 minutes late. We took the bus to the next stop and then decided to Uber back to Rio. Peterpolis seemed like a nice place to visit. Alex had no script he followed and we googled information as he spent most of the time not speaking English-and not understandable English even when he was speaking English. Maybe it was an off day for them but i would definitely not risk taking this company’s tour.
A dream villa! Located approximately 1 hour 30 from Rio
