Museo de Tequila & Mezcal (CDMX)

Location is easy to get to. And my tour guide, Isaac, was amazing and so knowledgeable. He made the experience so much fun & interesting! Also they have a cute little store and a rooftop that’s open Friday- Sunday that faces Plaza Garibaldi!

In museum itself "is...

In museum itself "it's too simple", but having been there in the company of a guide who is also a sommelier specializing in national distillates from Mexico made a difference, it wasn't so much what we saw (the truth is no greater thing to see), but the experience with a connoisseur who explains everything very well, clears your doubts and really explains the whole history and tradition of tequila and mezcal, really was very good, and the tasting is a perfect finish. He even recommended that we shop at the airport. Very good

We enjoyed the tour and knowledge shared by Tiare. The tasting portion of the day was our favorite as we learned about how to properly drink tequila/mezcal.

Great history of Tequila and the Agave Plant

Had a great experience with our tour guide Tiare, she was very knowledgeable about the history of all of the different agave drinks from Pulque to Tequila. Had an amazing time learning everything about the process of making tequila and she made the tasting use all of our senses, not just tasting the alcohol. Would definitely recommend this tour to any tequila/mezcal lover who isn't aware of what it take to make this fine spirit!

Max, thank you so much for your kind words! ✨ It truly makes me happy to know you enjoyed the experience and the journey through the history of agave spirits, from pulque to tequila. Sharing not only the process, but also engaging all the senses during the tasting, is something I’m very passionate about. I’m so glad the tour helped you appreciate everything that goes into making these incredible spirits. Thank you for the recommendation, and it was a pleasure guiding you—cheers to agave culture! 🌵🥃

Amazing experience. Our...

Amazing experience. Our tour guide Andy was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable about all things tequila, mezcal and spirits in general. He was very passionate, easy to talk to and made the experience a 10/10. It’s a small exhibit but dense with information. The tasting after was very fun and included 2 tequilas, 2 mezcals and a local cocktail afterwards. The tasting happens on a covered patio where you can also enjoy mariachi. We travelled with 8 people and everyone thought the tour was fantastic. Highly recommend the tour for anyone interested in learning more about tequila and mezcal. One thing that was a bit confusing was the “tickets.” Don’t worry about getting actual tickets, you more or less show up at your scheduled time and the guide will usher you into the exhibit. Very easy in hindsight and very fun.

Guided tour > self-led exhibit walkthrough

I booked the guided tour online (there are several websites to buy from) and it was a much better experience than simply walking around the exhibits without a guide. Our guide Ricardo was extremely knowledgeable, passionate, and brought each exhibit to life. It was a master class on mezcal/tequila from the agricultural/colonial roots, historical vs modern production methods, how these drinks spread worldwide in the 20th century, and how major brands / celebrities have balanced quality and demand to elevate the spirit. The (included) drinks in the end were a great way to taste the difference between different mezcals/tequilas, to improve your palate, and define your preferences for the drink.
