Visite gastronomique de Manille: introduction à la cuisine de rue aux Philippines

Description

Rather than spend a week sampling foods here and there, this is a great, safe, and comprehensive way to get the flavor of Manila's tasty street food! We came hungry but were stuffed when the tour was over. Our friendly and smart guide, Chloe, took us to several spots where we were treated to 15+ servings of Manila's most iconic snack foods and drinks, some were savory, and some were sweet, but all were full-size. It was fun, delish, and filling!
We had a blast ! Our guide Jian was so friendly and welcoming! He explained the food clearly and kept the vibes or the trip high. There was so much food so make sure you come hungry. And be prepared to try some interesting traditional food, you will definitely go out of your comfort zone, but you will really get to experience the culture. Loved it and would do it again !
Chloe was an amazing tour guide! She planned everything perfectly and we had some great conversations within our small tour group. There was a LOT of food so come hungry!
I definitely recommend this food tour in Manila if you want to go to a part of the city that is not touristy and want to eat foods that locals normally eat. Every item I tried was actually delicious. Chloe was an excellent guide. She was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. The whole tour went smoothly.
Amazing! It was a great way to learn about the culture. Chloe was very knowledgeable and let us take time to take pictures and go at our own pase. Some food was different but nothing we couldn't handle. Make sure to go hungry. There are multiple options at each location!
For our first day in Manila, we wanted to visit an area that had fewer tourists and would give us a sense of how some Manila residents live. The food tour provided an excellent background for accomplishing this. Each stop was carefully selected to introduce food that is common in the Philippines. I appreciated how the tour gradually introduced food items that may be less commonly known to Westerners. In addition, there was no pressure to eat any food item that you weren't comfortable with and the portions were more than adequate. Chloe did an excellent job explaining each food item that was offered and when it is was generally eaten by Filipinos. The last stop also provided an opportunity to visit a popular restaurant and enjoy several dishes. I would highly recommend it especially as you are recovering from jet lag and want an easier tour.
Chloe was an absolute joy! My husband and I had the best time getting to know her, the Filipino street food scene and befriending the other couple on our tour. Chloe was so friendly and went above and beyond! The jeepney and tricycle rides were so fun. We truly felt we were part of an Anthony Bourdain experience. The food had a mixture of sweet treats, meats, fried foods, drinks, and some adventurous foods to add some spice, but nothing too crazy. All delicious and would highly recommended to anyone visiting Manila to truly eat your way through Philippine local cuisine!
Chloe was an amazing guide! Besides her seamless way of connecting each food (a pleasant mixed order of savory and sweet) with ample background knowledge, Chloe is masterful at knowing when to facilitate conversation and when to let it flow amongst people in the tour group. She answered all questions with ease, and the 3-ish hour tour was crafted in a way that made you feel like a part of what was going on (ex. riding a jeep and tricycle!), rather than on the outside of it as a tourist. Our group was two couples, and we agreed that the tour felt like an Anthony Bourdain episode - well worth the ticket price! We would definitely recommend Chloe and this tour to any of our friends visiting Manila for the first time, Filipinos who have enjoyed some of these foods but might not know much about their background, or anyone curious about Philippine street food.
Had an amazing time with Chloe! Unlike some food tours where you get only tasting samples, you get the full size portions at the multiple stops on this tour. Good thing I had a light lunch on this day because I was definitely full by the end. The surprises along the way were also a nice touch. Definitely would recommend!
Friendly guide, lots of food, pretty easy going. Very nice way to spend some time getting familiar with Filipino culture while eat some food.
