This was one of the best tours I’ve ever done. Mannu is incredible, you can feel his passion for Mexican gastronomy. The food was excellent.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and this great review! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed exploring Mexico City with Manu.
Mannu is a guide full of passion and knowledge. You can tell he really loves what he does. He made us laugh, taught us so much about Mexican gastronomy, and led us to places we would have never discovered by ourselves. The tacos were absolutely delicious!

The tacos were so tasty, and we loved walking through downtown with such a great explanation. Our tour guide, Pamela, was excellent. Highly recommended!

Pamela gave us such a great experience. She knew so much about the city and picked excellent places to eat. We loved every stop!
An amazing experience! Chef Torres made the Zócalo Tacos Tour unforgettable with his passion, knowledge, and warmth. Every stop had delicious, authentic tacos and great stories behind them. A must-do in Mexico City!
Mannu was absolutely amazing. You can tell he has a real passion for food and specifically the Mexican gastronomy. He is an immense source of information and knowledge. As a foodie I thought this tour was beautifully executed. The food was great too!
Our guide, Ricardo, was the most wonderful and knowledgeable host. Ricardo is a food and art critic, and he is also an expert in Mexican history. We enjoyed sampling various tacos and then a mezcal and tequila tasting in a very elegant restaurant. Our last stop was for dessert, and what a treat! Ricardo was very generous with his explanations of the Mexican food, culture and history. I would recommend taking this tour!
Amazing tour! Ricardo, the guide, took us to taquerias and local restaurants. You can tell the chef’s touch by picking one place or another. This is a great way to visit Mexico City downtown and understand local food. Highly recommended!
We are both foodies and my wife booked this tour after excellent reviews. Let me start by saying the guide they gave us was very nice. However, the tour was supposed to start at 11:30 and we received a text saying if it was OK to start at 12 which we agreed. We arrived at the site at 12 and the guy did not show up till around 12:20 -12:25. When he came, he said he was just finishing up another tour which I found strange since food tours do not start in the morning. He said he does mostly historical tours. Usually when you go on food tours, you’re given a lot of information about the history of the place and the foods that you are eating, which we received minimally. Again, this is because this person is a historical guy tour, not a food tour. After the tour ended, we received a text from the operator stating hope you had a good time. We were very upset. In the text he sent us after the tour he stated that even though this was last minute, he hoped we enjoyed our tour. I told him that he knew the person giving us a tour was not a food tour guide. He knew that this person had a historical tour before, but still decided to take our money and give us subpar service. When I asked him what happened to his regular tour guides he explained that no one else was available and that his friend gave him a reference to this person. So I asked him, he was willing to stake the reputation of his company on a reference from a friend and a tour guide he knew nothing about except that his friend recommended him. Then he offered half refund for our inconvenience and I told him it was not about the money. I admit I got a little heated during the conversation. He then told me “now you listen to me“ after which I lost it. I told him I was going to write a bad review so no one else will go through the experience that we went through. I hope he was happy with his $140. Do not book with these people, you don’t know who you will get. Obviously money is more important to them than their reputation.
We’re truly sorry the experience didn’t meet your expectations. Before the tour, we contacted you to explain we had an exceptional situation that day and offered the option to proceed with a delayed start and an alternative guide, which you accepted. While the guide is experienced and passionate, we understand he didn’t provide the level of culinary depth you were hoping for. After the tour, we followed up personally, apologized, and offered a partial refund as a gesture of goodwill—even though you had booked a small group tour and we delivered the experience privately at no extra cost. At that point, we had done everything we reasonably could to make things right. Unfortunately, it became clear that despite our efforts, your intention was to publicly damage our reputation. We respect honest feedback—but fairness goes both ways.
