Terrible - The operator arrived 28 minutes after the pick up time and after 2 messages with Viator. The van was in poor condition and the tour guide had no ID. We were left for 40 minutes in the van on the roadside 500m from where we were collected. The tour was now an hour and 20 minutes in and we had travelled 500 metres. We asked what time we would be back as we had concerns about the tour and the guide. We were told after 7pm which mean the tour was going to be 10.5 hours rather than the 8 hours advertised. We asked to leave as we felt unsafe and the tour was not professional enough for us. We were refused a refund. Take my advice. Do not boom this tour. Save your money and choose another.

Our operations team arrived at the scheduled pickup location, and you were successfully picked up and onboarded. Due to traffic conditions and road closures in Mexico City on that day, our guide informed passengers that the return time could be affected and may take longer than usual. During the tour, you decided to leave the experience before completion due to your personal schedule, as you had plans to attend the **Brazil vs. Morocco World Cup match that day**. After being informed that traffic conditions could extend the return time, you chose not to continue with the itinerary. Our vehicle, guide, and operational team were available to provide the complete contracted service. The tour was not canceled by our company, and the service was not interrupted by the provider. We understand that unforeseen delays can impact travel plans. However, as the service was provided and the decision to leave was made voluntarily, the experience remained non-refundable according to the service conditions. Thank you for your feedback. The tour was fine, but 4 hours longer than was advertised. There was traffic, but the entire trip was still almost 12 hours. Plan ahead!

This is going to be a long review since reviews are lacking for this tour on Viator. If you want a shorter version, scroll to the end for the pros and cons. We had a previous tour cancel the day before, and scrambled to find an alternative. This was 1 of 2 companies that offered it, both had less than 20 mixed reviews. Even though this one only had 9 reviews, they were more positive overall so we went with this one. We booked this tour the night prior, around 19:00. There was no communication from the company. We messaged the morning of, about 2 hours prior to pickup and they responded fast, confirming and asking us to arrive at the pickup point between 8:10-8:30 (pickup time is listed as 8:30). We messaged at 8:40 confirming where we were, they responded almost right away for us to stay where we were as the van is looking for us. It was probably another 10 mins before the van showed up. When we approached the van, we weren’t really greeted, we had to confirm it was the right van and the answer was a head nod. I know my name stands out, but we still expected the tour guide to confirm which tour they were with. First stop was a tourist trap store. The small store across the way was better with a sweet and talkative shop owner from Oaxaca. Tip: either pack a lunch or snack up for the drive. After stopping for gas and bathroom to Cholula, we arrived around 13:30. The guide led us up to the church and we explored the area for maybe 30-45 minutes by ourselves. No explanation given. We were given a 20 minute heads-up to meet back at the van. We were then driven to a buffet and had lunch around 15:00. 300 Mxn per person for the buffet. Tip: order from the menu. Neither choices are great food options but we ordered a soup and a sandwich of flank steak, sweet plantains, mole, lettuce, cheese, and sour cream, which was pretty good, a soda and a beer and the total was less than 500 Mxn for the two of us and the food looked better than what was offered at the buffet. Tip: The town has a lot of cute coffee shops, restaurants, and sweets shops. After lunch was other tourist trap shop stop. We were then dropped off at the center plaza and given about 1.5 hours to explore. The guide explained a little bit about Alley of the Frogs but we got more from our conversation with one of our fellow tourists. We arrived back in Mexico City just before 20:00. Pro - Cheaper than an round trip uber from Mexico City - Last minute booking- the night prior - Fast response when contacted through the app - Good driver - Driver Alex spoke some English and was eager to answer any questions the tour group had was knowledgeable. Con - The Viator posting isn’t comprehensive - Lack of communication before the trip on confirmation by the company (though this was a last minute booking) - Lack of English guide - we are okay with this as we understand enough with the help of another group on the tour. The 2 other groups were both Spanish Speaking and since we booked so last minute, we did not expect them to change the scheduled guide. - No guide on tour - Multiple tourist trap shops - Mediocre lunch - The tour was more 11-12 hours total. Not 8 as listed on the description.

There is no chart. It was not organised , and were made to move one van to another one. It is not organised well. don’t recommend
Due to a government event, several streets in downtown Mexico City were closed on Saturday, December 6th, which affected the operation in that area. Our team explained the situation to the client at the time, but unfortunately the response was rude toward our staff, who always work with respect and dedication to assist all passengers. We appreciate the feedback.
Excellent tour because they took us to know the beautiful city of the Álanes and its wonderful colonial architecture. Cholula imposes with its great pre-Hispanic pyramid and we finish very pleasantly.

Very knowledgeable and entertaining. The tour did take all day but made sure we were all comfortable in the van and allowed us time to walk around each city to explore.

Very efficient organization. Guide was really knowledgeable and friendly. Very accommodating with our needs but on time. He was able to answer to all the questions. Very interesting story tellers of Mexico heritage. Driver very careful and attentive.

Our guide Miguel was excellent. His group management, knowledge and ability to communicate were outstanding. In addition, he was able to establish a very interesting connection between the cultures of Mexico and Costa Rica, which we highly appreciate. We really enjoyed the experience thanks to him and recommend him as a guide at any time. However, the attention of the agency staff who received us at the hotel left much to be desired. The tour was delayed and instead of informing us in due course, we were not given any explanation until we went to ask ourselves. Expressing our discomfort at the lack of information, one of the employees responded to us high-handedly, saying that they were not fortune tellers and that there was allegedly a fire causing the delay. However, when consulting with others, no one was aware of such a fire or mentioned it as a cause of the delay, and they dismissed this version. I think the treatment of tourists was unfortunate. It is very frowned upon that in a country with such a tourist vocation staff are allowed to attend in such an unprofessional and rude way. It would be advisable for them to take examples from other places where customer service is much more respectful and organized.
