Découvrez intimement Colombo, la capitale du Sri Lanka, lors de cette visite touristique de trois heures et demie en tuk tuk. Voyagez comme le font les Sri Lankais au fil de la circulation, arrêtez-vous pour découvrir les points de repère de la ville tels que le port de Colombo, le quartier de Pettah, l'église Wolvendaal, la place de l'Indépendance, le temple Gangaramaya et bien plus encore.

Rendez-vous avec votre groupe tôt le matin à votre hôtel, Avant de monter dans votre tuk tuk pour la journée, faites une petite promenade dans le quartier central des affaires de la ville, où vous pourrez admirer de nombreux bâtiments coloniaux.
Continuez à bord de votre balade motorisée en découvrant des sites de la ville comme le port de Colombo, la tour de l’horloge du Fort, le phare de Colombo et la maison du président. Passez ensuite par Chatham Street, un quartier à la mode qui a été interdit pendant de nombreuses années en raison de la guerre civile au Sri Lanka. Continuez de là vers Pettah, un quartier de Colombo connu pour ses nombreux étals de marché et sa mosquée rouge. Arrêtez-vous pendant 20 à 30 minutes pour prendre des collations dans la rue ou faire des emplettes. Alors que votre agile tuk tuk se faufile entre les passants, les autobus et les motos, vous continuerez à visiter l’église de Wolvendaal, une structure hollandaise de l’ère coloniale datant de plus de 360 ans. Jetez un coup d’œil à la collection de vieilles pierres tombales de l’église des anciens gouverneurs néerlandais de la ville, puis discutez avec le gardien de l’église, qui peut lui donner un aperçu de l’histoire et de la culture de la ville.
Dirigez-vous à côté du Sri Kaileshwarm Kovil (temple hindou du jardin du capitaine), principal lieu de culte pour les habitants de Colombo, puis rendez-vous à Independence Square, lieu où le Sri Lanka a proclamé son indépendance de la domination britannique en 1948.
Srilanka possède sa plus belle industrie de pierres précieuses et l’île s’appelait autrefois «île des pierres précieuses». Vous serez emmené dans un musée de pierres précieuses pour découvrir l’histoire de la pierre précieuse avec l’expérience de la coupe et du polissage
Dirigez-vous vers une fabrique de thé où vous pourrez expérimenter le thé pur de Ceylan et le goûter (chocolat, vanille, fraise) sont des saveurs très connues parmi celles-ci.
Faites la dernière étape de la journée au temple Gangaramaya, l'un des plus importants temples bouddhistes de Colombo. Explorez l'architecture et les peintures de ce site religieux avant de traverser la rue qui mène au lac de Bera, où vous pourrez en apprendre davantage sur certains problèmes contemporains, tels que la pollution, auxquels sont confrontés les habitants de la ville. Terminez le voyage avec un retour à votre point de départ.

A great tip around Colombo with Aashik. He was very knowledgeable and pointed out many sights. Lots of stops and places visited, no way would you find them on your own. Definately worth the money and highly recomended.

Aashik gave us a really nice Tuk tuk tour of Colombo, covering all the main sites. He gave also us a good description of some of the history of areas of the city. The driver he had was quite adept at navigating the Colombo traffic. He was very adaptable to change the tour to suit our requests. Since we are birders we wanted to see some of the bird life in the city so he led us through Victoria Park and stopped at a river to see some of storks and pelicans there. I would recommend getting Aashik as your tour guide

Not what was advertised. The tour guide left me with the driver about 5 minutes into the tour. The driver drove me around to a couple sites…not sure what we were passing because there wasn’t any information about the locations. The gem museum and tea shop were just tourist traps with high pressure sales. Then the driver dropped me off at the hotel after 2 hours and didn’t take me to the most interesting stop on the itinerary. But I bought the driver a coconut so we enjoyed that together. All in all it felt like a scam. I would not use this company.
Our trip was enjoyable. Our guide and driver were pleasant and knowledgeable of the city. They tried hard to take care of us. Only complaint was that too much of the tour was dropping us off at a tea shop and a gem store that they said was a museum but it was just at store with very persistent salesmen. We got good pictures at highlight spots. Booking with Viator was good. When we had confusion on pickup spot tour company answered the phone and worked it out.
I booked about $1000.00 in tours this trip with Viator. Had to cancel this tour because our ship arrived very late & all of our scheduling needed to be changed.I gave King fisher tours 20 hrs notice & not 24 because we were on the ocean with no internet or calling ability. They refused to give a refund based on their 24 hour notice. HOW INFLEXIBLE ARE THEY? 4 hours !!!!! I have tried to speak to a CSR to no avail. Everyone is at a call center in the PHillipines with a scripted response. I am very frustrated & can't imagine we have NO USA management to address this issue!!!!!
We had a kind, professional and attentive driver. I highly recommend this tour. Our itinerary took us to all of the highlights. We especially enjoyed the temples. And it was wonderful taking a tour of Colombo in a Tuk Tuk. Definitely try this if you are in Colombo.
Good communication pre tour .Driver didn’t introduce himself .No commentary ,said was Englishspeaking guide .Would have been better if explained route,points of interest ,looked intetested in his job.Asked for tip at the end .Such a shame as Viator always use excellent companies .

I booked this late on a Friday night for the following morning, and the communications worked well and my driver, Feros, was in contact early so I was reassured of the booking. The tour was fun! Tuk Tuk travel is like nothing else, and it’s amazing how it all works. Feros was very knowledgeable and attentive to my needs as a first timer in Colombo, and he took care of all aspects of the activity. He took me to each of the major sightseeing attractions and as I was a single traveller he kindly took photos of me in a various locations and sent them later via WhatsApp. This was very helpful and has allowed me to share my experience with family and friends. The tour ended, as with all these tours, with visits to shops where goods were demonstrated in the hope that I would buy. There was not, however, a very hard sell, which was a better experience than I have had before. I was dropped back at my starting point some 3 1/2 hours or so later, better for my experience!
