La pierre de travertin blanc a été utilisée pour la construction du complexe, car seule cette pierre était disponible en quantité suffisante pour une construction d'une telle envergure. Le bâtiment lui-même abrite le Centre des Arts Cafesjian avec des salles d'exposition où se déroulent des expositions permanentes et temporaires. Les expositions sont régulièrement mises à jour pour présenter les meilleurs spécimens d'art contemporain et de sculpture.
La place de France est située à la jonction des avenues Sayat Nova et Mesrop Mashtots, à proximité du Théâtre National Académique d'Opéra et de Ballet d'après A.
L'inauguration de l'Opéra-Théâtre a eu lieu le 28 novembre 1930, à l'occasion du 10e anniversaire de l'Arménie soviétique. Le 20 janvier 1933, le bâtiment est officiellement inauguré. Peu de temps après la fondation du théâtre, une troupe de ballet fut créée. Le Lac des Cygnes de Piotr Ilitch Tchaïkovski fut la première représentation de ballet en 1935.

Nice walking tour. The plan is well drawn up, and even if you have already been to Yerevan - it will be interesting, as guide Anush knows so many facts, stories, listening to it is a pleasure and the route itself a little away from the main sightseeing tour.

Hello! I was in Yerevan at the end of May. The weather is beautiful. We took a tour of Yerevan and had a guide, Anush. A wonderful girl, professional, she speaks Russian very competently, literary, and I also found out that she conducts tours in English and Spanish. She is a very interesting person.
