Description

Perfect way to experience the French Quarter

As a public health and history nerd I was very much looking forward to this experience but after taking it I don't think you need to be a nerd to enjoy it! Dalvin is very knowledgeable and engaging. I happened to be the only person signed up that day and he was very kind about it. I learned a lot and had a great time.

From one group of history buffs to another, thank you so much for this wonderful review! We wear our "nerd" badge with absolute pride, but we love hearing that our tours are accessible, fascinating, and engaging for everyone. Dalvin is truly fantastic at what he does. He has a real gift for taking deep, complex history—like the public health struggles of early New Orleans—and turning it into an incredibly captivating story.

Top-notch tour

Excellent tour. Dane was very knowledgeable and fun to be around. The city itself is remarkably beautiful and strange.

Great NOLA Tour!

We thoroughly enjoyed the Pestilence, Pandemic and Plaque tour during our recent trip to NOLA! My son has an interest in public health and epidemiology, and this was the tour he was really excited about. Dalvin was our tour guide and he was amazing! Kept us entertained during the whole tour and gave us tons of interesting information about NOLA. This is a great tour, especially if you have any interest in pandemics. I am in the medical field and really enjoyed it!

Thank you so much for this incredible review! We absolutely love it when medical professionals and future epidemiologists join us—you are exactly our kind of people! The Pestilence, Pandemic, and Plague tour definitely isn't your average, everyday historical stroll, and it takes a truly discerning crowd to appreciate the wild, gritty, and fascinating history of public health in New Orleans.

Dalvin was great!

We did the Plague Tour with Dalvin. He was phenomenal! He knew so much about the history of the area. He was a great communicator that made it so informative and entertaining. He was able to make some pretty dark subject matter accessible. He was funny and engaging. I would 100% come back and do another tour with him. I highly recommend him!

Dalvin is thrilled you enjoyed the Plague Tour so much. He’s phenomenal at delivering deep history in a way that’s informative, entertaining, funny, and engaging — even when the subject gets dark. Thank you for the high recommendation. 100% come back and tour with him again

Excellent history tour--for more than disease

Excellent information from knowledgeable guide. We were fortunate to be only couple on the tour (on a Tuesday), so we could ask any questions. Dalvin was entertaining, as well as informative. Only downside was rain, but tour went on...

Pestilence tour

Mikko was great. Lots of historical knowledge and fun side tips. Seems he knows everyone too. We had a fun tour even if it was a scary topic.

A hidden gem that’s actually a must do!

I was lucky enough to end up with a 1:1 tour experience. It was perfectly paced and informative. I work in outbreak response and love medical history - and I learned a lot of new things! This is a must do tour for my fellow nerds. Mikko showed me a trash can!

Garbage Not To Be Missed!

Mikko is extremely knowledgeable about the topic and New Orleans in general. Be prepared for a rapier wit and wonderful humor to be a tasty side dish to the info imparted. We saw a good smattering of the French Quarter along the way. While the Pharmaceutical Museum was closed on the day of our tour, don’t pass up this gem. Of all the Viator tours I’ve been on (all over the world), Mikko was by far the best tour guide. And, of course, the view of the in-ground garbage is not to be missed!
