Matt is a SUPERIOR tour guide in every way. The depth and breadth of his knowledge of the battle of Normandy, and the stories he conveys made this experience so incredibly special for our family, and especially our sons. Matt is deeply invested in learning and sharing the stories of people who fought and died here. This tour is worth every penny and you won’t be disappointed. He listened to our sons and what their interests were in this area and made sure they saw those things that were important to them, and gave great suggestions for other points of interest we can see on our own. Thank you, Matt! You made this trip so special for us!

Our tour guide, Alex was very personable and knowledgeable. He made it a very informative tour. We got to see several sites including Omaha Beach, Utah Beach and the American Cemetery and Memorial; a very moving experience. The most memorable part of the experience was the playing of Taps at 4:00, while the flag was lowered and folded in complete silence.

We really enjoyed this experience. Our guide Thierry was very knowledgeable and is a Normandy local and former teacher. It was especially neat to hear him talk about his father and uncle's experiences meeting some of the Americans from D-Day. Our group ended up being very small, with only us and one other couple. We learned quite a bit that we didn't know beforehand, and it was impactful to actually see the places we'd read about.

The tour guide made it all worthwhile. Fluent in English and French he was well versed in history and particularly WW I and II. Answered all questions supporting his answers with photographs and references.
thank you very much for your review. It was a real pleasure to share our passion with you Thank you for choosing GoldBeachCompany
Get experience! Matthew was very knowledgeable and an excellent guide. He knows his history well and I liked how he weaved a person interest story into each of our stops. Loved this small group experience of on 12.

My husband and I had the absolute best experience with this tour and had the best tour guide, Vigor!! He has so much knowledge of the WWII history and made this an incredible experience for us! The couples we were with all agreed Vigor was incredible and expresses such passion for this history. The Mercedes van ride was very comfortable ride for the whole day. We stopped at a market to get lunch and had such a nice picnic midday. My husband and I are in our early 30’s and were conflicted that this would be an “old person’s” tour, but we booked it anyways and we were so glad we did. If you come to Normandy you cannot miss this tour! We picked this tour because we are from the US and wanted to see the US history involvement in this tour. There was a good mix of ages and some of us went out for dinner afterwards in Bayeux and it was so nice! I would 100% recommend booking this tour!!

It is a full day tour. Small group. Tour guide maximized our time at the sites. The tour included tickets for all sites that needed them. Most sites were free entry. Igor did a great job explaining the events on D-Day.

I actually didn't make it to my tour. The train system betrayed me something awful. But the tour company went above and beyond to get me to the site on time. But the trains just wouldn't allowed. I appreciated that.

Our guide didn’t really get out of the car and take us to the sites the way the other guides did. More like an Uber than a tour guide. He was nice enough, but he flipped through his notebook either in the car or outside the car depending on whether or not it was raining. “Meet me back at the van in 45 minutes.” The other tour guides carried the same notebook and used it but also explained information at the site – for example, one of the other guides was talking about Lancaster who dropped the bombs and how it’s payload compared with other planes during the war. Another talked about how the Germans tried to plaster the bunkers with sand to make them look camouflaged but it didn’t work. For this kind of money – upwards of $500 for three people – I expected a much more detailed, hands on tour. Pretty blue eyes, very nice man, alas, Stephen is lazy. I wouldn’t mind a credit. I go on a lot of TripAdvisor tours when I travel and this tour, which was so important to my history of nephew, was sorely lacking. Nancy Venditti
Thank you so much for your kind review. Always useful for the Goldbeachcompany I will talk to him to understand the situation . It's not representative of our guided services.
Adrien was a knowledgeable host. He made each site come alive. He kept everything low key but very enjoyable and would highly recommend. Pay attention to emails when you book because you may sign up for 8:30 pick up but be moved to the 9:30 group.
