My private transfer from Gimpo Airport to my hotel in the city was a smooth experience, especially after a long travel day. The driver was waiting with a sign with my name, though it was a little challenging for us to find each other at first. That was mostly due to my lack of Korean and the time it took to communicate through WhatsApp with dispatch and waiting for them to communicate to the driver and back to me. However, once we connected, everything went smoothly. I did not realize when I booked my arrival that I would be landing the same night as the BTS comeback concert, which was taking place a few blocks away from my hotel. So Seoul was in full BTS mode. There were a lot of people and traffic around my hotel, but my driver handled everything very well. Google Maps had estimated that it could take around two hours to get from Gimpo to the Westin Josun I assume because of the concert traffic, but my driver clearly knew Seoul well. He took an alternate route from what my map was showing and got me to the hotel in about 40 minutes. After such a long travel day, I really appreciated how quickly he got me there. He was not driving recklessly at all, just normal, safe driving during a high-traffic time. The difference was how well he knew his city. I would definitely recommend this transfer, especially if you are arriving tired, unfamiliar with the city, or traveling during a busy event.
This was a horrible experience. 👎👎 The driver never showed. I called 3 times to the help numbers. First time we were told to call back in 10 mins as there was no one to speak English. Second call we were told they were not responsible and could not help. We told to ring a different number. The other number provided did not connect. I messaged on the chat app provided in the booking but no one responded. In the end we had to get a taxi after waiting almost an hour. I have requested via messaging available for a full refund. I'm yet to receive any response. I have used these booking services before including booking tours which were very successful in the past. This was the first time I have had such a terrible experience. As Australians say, "Not happy Jan!" For anyone reading this, it's cheaper and easier to get a taxi from Gimpo airport to Seoul than use this transfer service.
