Juma is the best deiver you can ever have. He’s safe and genuinely a good person. He’s on time and give really good information on zanzibar.
I brought dried dates pre packed and they were confistigated by the Customs & Excise. Telling me it was a restricted item as it contains seeds.
There were done, your driver never showed up. Once I cleared customs and went out to the area where all the drivers and taxi's are there was not a soul there to pick me up. I was lucky to find one driver and he took me to the Element hotel for $10.00 USD less.
Arrived at the terminal at 1am from Mwanza and connected to the International terminal. The check in only opened after 2.45am and then waited at gate 9 for our flight. Could not even have a shut eye as the mosquitos were so many.
With Derick - the driver - we started to chat before our departure from Italy to Tanzania. This gave me the confidence to travel. Knowing that a local trustable person is waiting for you at the airport in another continent makes a great difference! I felt secure. Derick is a very nice person, efficient and on time. He can give many useful tips and he is often smiling. He has been our first welcome to Tanzania!

They only wait 60 minutes from your landing time and the whole COVID test, custom, buying Visa and getting bags took 1 1/2 hours. When we got outside no one was there waiting. The taxi were there for lesser price. I won’t recommend booking a transfer that cost more than taxi ride. And my understanding is Uber is even cheaper.
