My 16-year old son and I had a wonderful day trip to Lovech and the caves! Though Lovech was a bit sleepy on the day we were there, we actually embraced that it was not crowded. We walked through the Old Town up to the fort, had lunch in the main square and browsed the small shops. The caves were absolutely stunning and made for beautiful photo opportunities. It gave us a feeling of what smaller Bulgarian towns are like. Our guide was great and gave us lots of information! We actually got lucky because a third cave ended up being part of our itinerary as well! Thank you so much!
Very nice guide, pickup at the hotel worked without any problems, great highlights of my trip worth seeing - I definitely recommend the excursion!
Wonderful scenery at the cave and waterfall. Lovely city of Lovech. Only pity is that most of the internal sections of the cave are closed due to the breeding season of thousands of bats living there.
This tour was amazing. We even got to stop by the God's Eyes cave since a few people didn't show up and we had a smaller group. The caves and water falls were absolutely stunning, and the town of Loevech has a beautiful viewpoint and some very medieval feeling streets which was very cool. Our guide Lubo was very knowledgeable and flexible, he let us hangout at sites as long as we wanted so we could take extra pictures. I highly recommend this tour.
This is a fabulous day trip from Sofia that includes scenic vistas of the countryside, beautiful cascading waterfalls, stunning caves, an historic fortress, a walk across the only remaining covered bridge in the Balkans, and free time for lunch in a local restaurant.
Everything was great. Guide was friendly. We saw amazing nature combined with Bulgarian food and history.
Had an awesome time with Joan of Bultrips! He's very nice and told us a lot of interesting trivia on the places we visited, which definitely upgraded the experience compared to doing it by ourselves.
An amazing and knowledgeable tour guide and great overall tour. Got to see a lot, cave, fortress, and waterfalls, were all worth the journey, as well as experiencing local culture and food at lunch. I highly recommend.
It was a lovely experience. Ivan, our tour guide, was very kind and knowledgeable. I recommend booking this tour with Bultrips over other companies, because you will be in a relatively small group and it’s more comfortable. The cave and waterfalls are stunning and are definitely worth the drive! Lovech is a nice town, with scenic views of the covered bridge. There is also an interesting contrast of architecture in Lovech, with buildings from both the Revival period and Communist era. We ate in a restaurant in the old neighborhood of Varosha, which is very quaint. Lastly, the views from the medieval fortress are beautiful and a good opportunity for photos.
Dear traveler, Thank you so much for this review. It is of utmost importance to us. Our team wishes you many more wonderful experiences! All the best, BulTrips Team
We has an early pick up by our driver/guide on the 8th. Unfortunately it was a rainy day. The Devetaki cave is huge and has an interesting history during cold war days, used as a fuel dump. Very little signs of this remains. We moved on to the Krushuna waterfalls and due to two days of rain was quite spectacular. Unlike the photograph advertised torrents of brown water was pouring down the falls. This did prevent us taking a circular walk as the small bridge/platform that we should have crossed was covered by the torrent of water. On arriving at Lovech we crossed the covered bridge which originally was constructed in the late 19th century. The present bridge is much recent as it had to be rebuilt due the a fire in 1925. We had a one hour break for lunch. After lunch the guide took us up through the old town to the fortress for a view over Lovech and back down to our car through a different part of the old town. Our guide/driver was well informed and took us through the history of Bulgaria and the places we visited. It was a pleasure to have the guide we had on the day, very approachable and friendly. The only thing that dampened the experience was the rain on the day.
