This was an incredible experience. It was our first time to Teotihuacan and seeing it from 1,000 feet in the air was breath taking. Definitely worth the cost of admission. Walking through the ruins afterwards was equally interesting. I highly recommend the bike tour as well if you want to get away from the touristy area and really see how the people live in the nearby towns.
The whole tour was a lot of fun! The pickup in the morning was easy. Volaré was a perfect company to work with for the hot air balloon ride. It felt very safe and organized. Our pilot flew us right over the pyramid on the way there and back. Throughout the entire trip, the food was not a highlight but fuel to keep us going it was a long but very fun day. The people were all very friendly and helpful especially Luis, our driver and the lady at the front desk. Luis gave a great tour of the archeological zone and bike trip around the city. I would recommend this tour to others if they want a balloon ride and a guide in Teotihuacan. I will say I probably could have skipped the biking part but I still had a good time.
This was a really fun adventure. The hot air ballon ride over the pyramids was amazing and beautiful (remember to brace for impact when you land and make a mental note of where the padding is in the basket). I love mountain biking, so adding the biking package made this experience even more fun, and you get a more up close look at the archaeological sites in the surrounding countryside. And then walking the pyramid site just transports you to another world and offers some incredible photo opportunities. All of the guides were professional, friendly, and made learning about the Teotihuacan history enjoyable. With transportation from my hotel in Mexico City, and breakfast and lunch included, I highly recommend this experience.
I was initially unsure about this experience, but I'm so glad I did it! It sounds like they send up these many balloons every single day. Turns out our balloon pilot was an ex-fighter pilot for the Mexican Air Force, so we knew we were in very good hands. After that, we went to the pyramids, which is a must-do. Then we visited some miscellaneous sites in the area. Definitely a long day, so be prepared, but well worth it!
Great experience from the start to the end. Top organization. Balloon experience is perfect before going to visit the site on the ground. We did the walking tour with a guide (Luis very knowledgeable). The restaurant is ok with touristic animations about Mexican culture. We recommend not to forget hats, sunscreen and water. Big thank you to the Volare and Teotihuacan en bici crews, particularly to Angeles.
Our tour started rough! We did not receive much information about how the day would unfold. We were told a driver would meet us at 5 am. However, that was all I was provided. The driver did not identify himself, the car was dirty and the driver gave no information. I had to message Viator during the drive to find out what was going on. The balloon ride itself was AMAZING however, the breakfast afterwards was TERRIBLE. We were then taken to a place for the bike ride. The bikes were very old and the tires were not very full. Our tour guide Ramon, however, was AMAZING! He was so knowledgeable and provided a great tour of the Pyramids and the surrounding area. So overall, Ramon and the Balloon experience made the trip a four-star - but highly disappointed in Viator! We have never had issues with the company before, but this excursion was extremely disorganized and no information was provided.
We had a great time for the entire day. The driver was at our hotel downtown right at 5:30am, the balloon registration was easy with early morning coffee and tea, and breakfast after the balloon ride. The balloon flight was unforgetable, and perhaps one of my favorite touristy activities I’ve ever done. After breakfast, we went to the bike tour company, and Luis took us all around the area acting as a guide, first to the main Teotihuacan site; to ruins of some living quarters with beautiful murals; to a lava cave; and to a site where we learned about obsidian and did a tasting of local food and drink. We ended with a prix fix lunch at a Mexican restaurant, and then our driver took us back to the hotel. All in all, very well organized, and everyone was kind and happy to share their history and community.
Professional and friendly and attentive and kind and knowledgeable staff who took care of me and gave me the best day of adventures.
I was looking for a tour that offered Balloon ride and a guided tour of Teotihuacan, and this was one of the rare tours that offered this. We started the day early but there was a small miscommunication where the sister tour operator tried to pick us up 40 minutes before our stated pickup time. After we resolved that initial miscommunication, it was all smooth sailing. Angeles picked us up promptly at the right time, and drove us out to the Balloon takeoff site. The ride itself was fantastic! I was riding with two people who had a fear of heights, but this experience was enjoyable for both! It is extremely gentle ride, to the point that you don't even realize when you've lifted off. You don't need a jacket or anything as the heat from the propane flame can get quite warm. So, dress for a normal day. The flight lasted about an hour before we landed which is quite exciting as the pilot doesn't have directional control and it's a joint effort with the ground team to land the Balloon. We went back to the takeoff site for a decent breakfast while being serenaded by a Mariachi band. We weren't expecting this, so it was a nice surprise. After breakfast, we went to the tour office to sign some paperwork, and pick up our guide for Teotihuacan- Luis. Luis was phenomenal. He has great knowledge about the archeological site, and was very patient with us when we stalled to take photos. All of this made for a wonderful day - they were even able to take us to the Pyramid of the Feathered Serpent as we had enough time. I cannot recommend this experience enough. This is more expensive than the other tours that offer Teotihuacan Balloon and Site visit but it is absolutely worth it ad you get small group focus which truly elevates the whole experience. I would definitely choose Angeles and her team again.
Great tour and fantastic experience. Loved it. Baloon ride is great experience, loved every second of it. The guide during the walking trip after the ride was very knowledgable and it was really interesting. Breakfast and dinner that was included was edible although room for improvement always exists.
