Tour du fleuve Yichang Yangzte à Chongqing

We travelled on the Century Voyage from Yichang to Chongquin. What an amazing experience!! From the minute we waited to board, until we disembarked, we were felt special. Once on board, we were checked in by Austin, who was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. He took us to our room, and what a surprise for Nick. The staff had made a fantastic effort decorating the room for his special birthday trip. We were allocated a butler , Ivan, who spoke great English and, together with Austin, guided us throughout our journey. Food was incredible, trips off the boat very memorable and very well managed by the staff. The ship was immaculate and has excellent facilities. We made use of the gym and attended the live entertainment performances. We even danced the night away in the entertainments lounge to the resident duo. All staff members made great efforts to make passengers feel special, with warm smiles and being ultra helpful. Thank you to all the staff, but a very special thank you to Austin and Ivan. Highly recommended.

I would advise every traveller to not book a cruise with century cruises. They offer highly inflated prices for a cruise with below average food, bad service, and crowded visits to mediocre sights on the way. The staff does not speak English and there are almost no other international guests onboard, making the experience feel uncomfortable. Our cruise ended over 100 km away from Chongqing allegedly due to low water in the river and we had to take a two hour bus journey instead of enjoying a scenic arrival in Chongqing with no compensation offered.

3 nights will be enough, over the 3 Gorges, from Chongqing to Yichang. Good food on the cruise. Side trips are busy as this is China, with many tourists and many boats that cruise the same river. Choose the cooler months, not summer

We recently returned from a 4-day, 3-night Yangtze River cruise from Chongqing to Yichang aboard the Century Voyage, booked through China Discovery, and it was truly a highlight of our travels. This was our first cruise on the Yangtze, and the experience exceeded all our expectations. The Century Voyage, having entered service in 2024, is a stunningly new and luxurious ship. From the moment we boarded, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and well-cared for. Their service was exceptional across all areas – housekeeping, customer service, and in the restaurant. The buffet-style dining was a delightful surprise. The quality and variety of food served surpassed anything we anticipated, with delicious options available at every meal. We also thoroughly enjoyed the onboard entertainment, where the crew showcased their talents through engaging performances. The shore excursions were meticulously organized and provided fascinating insights into the region's history and culture. While the majority of our fellow passengers were local, we appreciated that the ship provided English translations and that English-speaking guests were assigned knowledgeable English-speaking guides for the excursions. This cruise was a wonderful and memorable journey through the majestic Three Gorges. We wholeheartedly recommend Century Cruises for an exceptional Yangtze River experience. It’s a journey filled with comfort, excellent service, and breathtaking scenery. Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all staff especially to our host, Isabella who always came around to check if we are enjoying the cruise and to Lucky who serve us very well at mealtime.

Century Oasis Having experienced cruising in the Caribbean and Europe we decided to to try a river cruise on the Yangtze river in China.With our travel guide assisting us we settled on the Century Oasis 4 nights from Yichang.Our guide from Travel china brought us to the cruise terminal and assisted us in check in and boarding of our bus to the ship . He assured us that we would be met on the ship and given assistance.We were greeted by Alan and Eddie who helped us in understanding the dining and shore excursions etc .Throughout the cruise they both looked after our needs and ensured we understood what and where we were going . As 99.7 percent of the passengers were Chinese nationals it was particularly daunting with the language and customs,nevertheless Alan and Eddie were at hand all the time to offer assistance and guidance. Food offerings were all buffet with plenty of choice of traditional Chinese dishes.Quality and choice were excellent.Some small concessions to western needs which was understandable.Complementary wine,beer and soft drinks are served at meal times. There was 3 shore excursions included in the price all with a English speaking guide.Cabin was tight but functional and room attendant was very efficient.The ship was well furnished and decorated and spotlessly clean.On and off the ship for excursions was seamless .Again entertainment was towards Chinese market yet enjoyable.Considering our anticipation about this cruise it has been a most enjoyable experience.Credit to Alan and Eddie and all the staff who were helpful and above all always polite. I would recommend this river cruise,however allow for the fact that at present it leans towards Chinese market but as we experienced assistance was always at hand.
