It was good. Guide Alexa was nice. Would have loved more if there were more fun facts and interactive session. Speech could have been slower as she spoke bit fast but she was really sweet and considerate.
It was incredible to see the pyramids of Teotihuacan! Our tour guide, Salvador, was exceptional at explaining the history and significance of the pyramids and surrounding civilization (in English). He was kind enough to answer many of the additional questions I had throughout the tour. We were able to climb the pyramids which permitted it, but one of them (Sun) was closed off to the public. The actual tour itself was great - no issues. Driver and tour guides were very accommodating and ensured everyone had food and water before and during the tour. We unfortunately were not able to participate in the lunch and tequila tasting, due to a conflicting event. What we wished we had done different was to Uber to the meeting location (a hostel). We paid extra for a pick up service since it was early morning, but it was not a great experience for us since we were not aware that this service picked up other people as well. It took awhile, the driver was not that helpful in telling us where we were going, and we would have rather traveled separately. Lastly: if you appreciate a more in depth, private experience of the history, and if’s within budget, I would suggest doing a private tour. That’s what I should have done, looking back. There is so much history, and traveling with a larger group of people can make it difficult to make time for explaining the significance of the many of the fascinating structures and sculptures.
The meeting point is easy to find and the tour started on time. The guide, Alex, was excellent and communicated the information about the place and its history very clearly; you learn a lot during the tour. Likewise, the driver that day, Danny, drove calmly and safely, which is not the norm in Mexico. I do not recommend the buffet lunch. The food is good but there is not much variety. It is better to order from the menu at the restaurant where lunch is served. The minibus is quite new but a little uncomfortable, especially in the front seats. Overall, I recommend the tour 100%. I loved it and Teotihuacán is a magical place.
We went on the sunrise tour. There were about 12 in our group. Tour guide was informative and nice, but he talked constantly. And I mean constantly. It was like listening to the radio. I think pauses are a great way to give people space and time to digest and to interact and meet one another. The last part (at least 1.5 hours) of the tour was basically an advertisement to sell restaurant food and souvenirs to squeeze money out of you. We spent a lot of time at several different tourist traps. We felt like captive prisoners pressured and guilted with no escape. At the mescal/tequila stop there were lots of off-color raunchy jokes by our “speaker”, with even with lively obsidian dildos (not kidding) for sale. The tour ended on this heavy-handed distasteful experience. We were also told not to leave a review unless it was 5 stars. So based on our experience I can’t recommend Amigo Tours. Maybe all the tours do this. I don’t know. If that’s the case take public transit or Uber and enjoy the day on your own terms, and avoid the tourist traps!!
From scheduling, through clarification of doubts and tour itself, everything was very good. Attention by whatsapp very fast, the guides Geovana and Alex were very good, I participated in the group of Alex (English) and he provided important information and curiosities. Excellent guide!! I highly recommend the tour with the Amigo Tour!
Excellent service! Excellent guides and people! The lunch was incredible! Learning with Antonio is amazing!
Wonderful experience, our guides Alex and Papa Toño were incredible, they gave us a day full of learning, knowledge, and joy... the food was delicious here.
Excellent attention, the timing, the guides, the food was excellent, and Mr. Antonio and Alex were excellent guides and hosts.
Antonio and Alex were incredible guides! The whole experience was amazing and smooth.
Very fast, the Sunrise. Good explanation from Salvador. You walk a lot; bring water, a cap, and comfortable shoes. On the way back, we got off in a central location due to a demonstration, but the guide informed everyone which lines could be used.
