Sri Lanka Sinharaja Rain Forest Tour avec transport

Description

A very good experience if you’re into your wildlife. I did the 5 hour hike and saw numerous snakes, lizards, giant millipedes, huge spiders etc. To be honest I think 3 hours would have been enough as when we left the river and climbed up the mountain we saw very little except for large impressive trees, many over 800 years old it was explained to me. I would add that you need to be very fit as It involves climbing up very steep rocky, slippery terrain frequently having to hang on with your hands in high humidity, lower down the mountain felt like I was hiking in a sauna! I don’t think my heart rate dropped much below 110 for the whole time we were out! We climbed from 145 feet to over 1890 feet according to my iPhone! Be prepared for leeches, my guide said there wouldn’t be any as it hadn’t rained for awhile, however after 3 hours or so I felt something nipping me on my left leg and looked down to find 4 leeches had attached themselves right through my socks! However, it was easy enough to flick them off. Finally, I have to give a big shout out to my guide - Nishantha. He was as agile as a mountain goat and had the eye sight of an eagle constantly spotting incredibly camouflaged things I would have never seen. I would highly recommend him. He did make me laugh as when we first started out he said that it would be better to get bitten by a venomous snake in the first hour as he had more chance of getting me to a hospital, after an hour ‘not good’ was his dryly delivered comment 🤗
Very interesting tour though I expected to see more wildlife. Saw iguanas, butterflies, snakes and beautiful waterfalls. The guide had knowledge of the rainforest. The driver was very careful and kind and went through small villages which added to the tour as I saw how the life in Sri Lanka is like and passed some breathtaking places. Nevertheless , a bit expensive activity.
It was a very pleasant and comfortable experience. The driver arrived in the morning just as promised to pick me up. He drove me to the Rainforest and the Ranger was already waiting for me, so the tour could start immediately. The tour itself was also very nice (10/10). We saw lots of animals, beautiful plants and my highlight was the swimming in the waterfall. When the tour was over the driver already waited for me outside to drive me home. The van had AC and the driver stopped on the way home to buy me a delicious coconut!🥰
More strenuous than we expected but was it worth it. We saw snakes lizards butterflies millipede s and the waterfalls were breathtaking. Our guide was very knowledgeable and fun to be with..We will definitely be returning next year
I was visiting Sinharaja forest from Induruwa, 1 day tour. The driver was polite, tour guide accompanied me showed me a lot of interesting things in jungle. So the tour was and exciting. Good value for money.
Wow what an experience! This park is teeming with life and I guarantee you will not disappoint. Guide was kind, informative and good company 😃
It was an absolutely nice tour through the jungle, past tea fields, rice fields and temples. Our driver Sameera was absolutely reliable and picked us up on time at Hotel Riu Sri Lanka. Thank you
Great tour and organisation. We truly enjoyed our time on the trip and had a great day in the Sinharaja Rainforest. We got amazing views of the rainforest and sightings of animals including snakes, butterflies, monkeys and peacocks.
Was good, saw lots of small animals such as snakes, lizards and centipedes but no birds as we got there late morning. The misty forest scenery on way up was also beautiful. The only negative was that it poured with rain- we got completely drenched- so a bit of warning from the guide about leaving dry clothes and shoes in car and having an Umbrella or two would have been useful.
Good tour with lots to see! The waterfalls are amazing. Very knowledgeable guide. Good place to go if you like hikes or like exploring for plants and flowers or lizards, frogs and snakes. Sameeri the driver, is nice and is friendly, calls you the day before to confirm everything.
