Snowdon via Crib Goch

Description

A massive thank you to Simon for getting me up and over Crib Goch this summer. What a day it was, and what an experience! I’d highly recommend MountainXperience, and especially Simon. His knowledge and experience really showed throughout the day. On the trickier, more exposed sections he was there with advice and guidance when it was needed, but on the easier scrambling parts he was happy to let us get on with it and enjoy ourselves. (as long as we behaved near the edges!) That balance was spot on, and for me, it’s what really makes MountainXperience stand out. If you’ve always fancied taking on Crib Goch but don’t think you’ve got the confidence to do it, or simply don’t fancy tackling it on your own, I’d definitely recommend giving the guys at MountainXperience a shout. The cost is well worth it for the confidence and peace of mind you get on the day. Thanks again, Simon, for a brilliant day out in the mountains. One I won’t forget!
From the minute I met Simon, he put me completely at ease. He’s friendly, easy to talk to, and so knowledgeable that you feel safe even when you’re standing on a ridge wondering why you voluntarily came up here. He genuinely wants you to have the best experience, and he plays to your strengths, teaching you how to read the path, make good decisions, and actually learn so you can take on future adventures with confidence. He made the whole day priceless, and I’ll always be grateful for him… even though he definitely brought the fun while taking our safety VERY seriously. The man can crack a joke, but he can also tell you off like a disappointed PE teacher if you so much as think about doing something daft. He’s also not a fan of big lunches. Quick stop, quick snack, keep moving. Poor Amanda got roasted for turning up with four cheese-and-spinach wraps despite having the world’s smallest bag. And Darren, bless him, wasn’t the most confident (afraid of heights), so Simon gave him the classic: “Okay, try again… and try and look less scared please,” while taking a photo. Supportive… but with a side of sass. I FaceTimed my daughter at the top of Crib Goch — a proud mum moment — and he still told me off. Apparently dangling a phone over a sheer drop isn’t “best practice.” But honestly? I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else guiding us. He made us laugh, he kept us safe, and he gave us an experience we’ll never forget.
What a brilliant review - thank you Kirsty! It was an absolute pleasure guiding you all, and I’m delighted you finished the day feeling more confident as well as having enjoyed the experience. You were a fantastic group and handled the ridge brilliantly. Thank you for trusting me to keep you safe, teach you a few things and provide the occasional bit of 'supportive sass'! It was a memorable day for me too, and I hope we’ll see you back for another adventure. Simon.
Amazing experience would highly recommend

What an outstanding and totally amazing experience. Our guide was Smyrff and he was so dedicated to our safety, his knowledge of the mountain and a really great guy. Big thanks to him and 100% amazing
Thanks for the awesome review James! I'm so pleased you enjoyed your Crib Goch adventure with Smyrff. It's an amazing day out for sure. Hope to see you on another mountain day soon. Simon.
What a fantastic day out, one of my best days on a mountain. Smyrff was a great guide, great at building confidence with his relaxed style, full of great hints and tips to make for a safe and fun day out. Outside of his scrambling expertise, his local knowledge and general craic made for a thoroughly enjoyable hike, highly recommended!
Thanks for the 5* review! I'm so happy you enjoyed your Crib Goch adventure with Smyrff. He's great isn't he?! Simon.
I completed the NNAS Tutor Course today with Simon (and am set to do the NNAS Gold Course over the following two days). I like to think of myself as an experienced navigator but this course taught me a huge amount about how to engage and train others in navigation including insight into a wide range of resources, techniques and approaches to training that will hugely benefit the Army Cadets that I work with.
Thanks for the awesome review Mark. I'm really pleased you enjoyed your NNAS Tutor Award course with MountainXperience. Hope to see you out and about again very soon. Simon.
A thoroughly enjoyable mountain day blessed with perfect weather conditions. Simon was a very professional, patient & knowledgeable guide. One of the best mountain days I've had. One of the best £59 I've ever spent!
Crip Goch was a fantastic experience. A big thank you to Connor our mountain leader. He kept us all safe in a small group. He was like a professional friend. I highly recommend the experience. Martin
Thanks for the awesome review Martin! I'm so pleased you enjoyed your Crib Goch adventure with Conor. I'll make sure he sees your kind words. Simon.
Went with my dad- shortly after my birthday- brilliant trip- well worth the time and effort- apart from people screaming pretending to fall off which seemed a shame as it was frightening. Big crowd but not as many as i expected- got a bit burnt but completely free to do!
A great day from start to finish. Simon and Nick (and Peris the Welsh Collie) met the group and gave us all a big welcome. We were soon on our way, being well guided and with encouragement where needed. I joined this group to tackle Crib Goch and this proved to be a good decision given the terrain. We were shown the best route and given several options for extra 'fun' along the way - slightly more challenging diversions. The guides and those in the group work well together making the hike a fabulous experience.
Thanks for the awesome review! I'm so pleased you enjoyed your adventure on Crib Goch. All the best. Simon.
