This tour was excellent. Very laid back, relaxed pace, and informative. Our tour guide Melissa was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She provided excellent history and answered all our questions. She helped us find our bearings in Caernarfon and recommended great places to go later in our trip.
I have no idea who Melisa is but i;m glad you has a good tour but it wasn't with me.
Our tour guide, Glenn, was so informative. He is a retired archeologist so knows a great deal about the building process and medieval life. He also speaks Welsh fluently so it was interesting to hear spoken. Glenn could also tell us a lot about the town itself and gave us a good lunch recommendation. We learned more from a guide to complete our experience than we could have known by ourselves.
I am the Welsh speaking archaeologist, and its Neil Thanks for the favourable review,
Very informative tour and a lot to see. We weren't rushed and all our questions were answered by Neil a very good gide . 10/10
Our tour with Neil was fantastic, could not praise it anymore. Went on the 29th with my brother who can't stand for extended periods of time, so he made sure we had a break often during his tour. Lovely gentleman, fantastic company and made us feel at ease by asking us what we wanted him to talk about. Gripping storytelling in a factual and down to earth manner, it's peaked my interest into the history of Wales, King Edward the first and the title of the prince of Wales. Recommend Neil for any future tours of Caernarfon Castle. Also a retired Archeologist who has helped in the finding of two sites Llewellyn the last travelled between. Definitely booking him when I go to Wales again.
Neil was so knowledgeable about the castle, history and life of medieval Wales. Well-worth the money to have a guided tour.
Our tour was Catered to our needs. Our tour guide was very informative and really took the time to share all the important facts about the castle with us. It was not easy with her one year old, but she was very understanding. I would highly recommend her to guide! I love that it was a private tour.
We had a fabulous guide, Neil Johnstone, who is a local Welshman who has lived here all his life. He is also a retired archeologist & history buff. He not only gave us a good tour of the castle, but also walked around the old walls of the city. His knowledge of the castle’s history & the history of the walled city & earlier Roman castle & city made the tour enlightening & fun. This is a great bargain.
Neal was an amazing tour guide! He was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly! My children and I enjoyed the visit to the castle and town!
Really friendly and knowledgable guide. It was the first tour he has done of this variety, although a very experienced guide and interesting career in archeology. Neil asked us what our knowledge level was in order to cater the tour to our interests. Areas of knowledge were Welsh Princes, local archeology and Medieval history. We went around the town walls where we were shown various important buildings ranging from the 13th century to 18th century along with the functionality of the various gates. We then toured the castle itself and were told some really interesting stories about Welsh Princes, Edward the 1st, the castles creation and more modern history too. I really enjoyed the story telling elements to the tour. I would throughly recommend Neil as a tour guide.
