We are not usually tour bus people, so this was different for us. Siena and San Gimignano were very fun experiences. Nice quaint cities that we walked around in for the time we were given. Definitely worth it. The first city Monteriggioni was small and some may have found it worthwhile, but we didn't. The wine tour was not as one would expect...they were more concerned about trying to sell us wine than educating us about their process and history. Overall it's worth the day and the price to experience this trip.
Lorenza was a very good guide, very Good day in beautiful city !
The whole day was well organized with a friendly and personable guide. The bus was air conditioned and comfortable with outlets. We were offered a lunch at a very good price for the amount of food included. All of our stops felt like the appropriate amount of time to wander and sight see comfortably without feeling rushed or that we had too much time to spend. I would definitely recommend.
Disinterested guide who didn't seem to know much about the attractions. Heavy sales pitch at vineyard. It would have been interesting to know more about the wine production process.
Jan and Camille gave us all an outstanding day visiting places we have only dreamed of. Very well organised, clear explanations and planning - amazing places! Thank you!
We have done the Siena, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni excursion and it has been an unforgettable experience. Everything very well organized and Antonio our guide was very attentive to us throughout the day, a great professional.
Antonio is a great tour guide. We really recommend this tour which is very efficient to visit three wonderful towns of the world heritage. Winery visit was also one of the wonderful experiences during our trip in Italy.
Antonio, our tour guide, was so impressive. He spoke 4 languages and accommodated so many people. He was knowledgeable and very kind. The day was well organized and on time.
The tour started out OK. After a bus ride and a walk from the bus to the meeting point, we were given a brief history and then instructions to meet back at that point by a certain time. Some had free time, and some (like me) booked the extra walking tour, which showed us a few points of interest, then the local guide left us at the Duomo with instructions on how to get back. I was the fool that followed the instructions, rather than use Google Maps. He left out a couple of rather critical turns, so needless to say, I found myself lost. And by the time I thought to use Google Maps, my estimated return time was decidedly late for the meeting point. I called Ciao, Florence, who sent me instructions to get to the bus depot instead, which was further. Rather than being reassured, i was being told to calm down or they'd hang up (not what to say to someone having a panic attack). I was told though, that the guide was waiting. Great. I was hurrying as fast as I could, stopping for absolutely nothing. And I was in constant contact with Ciao Florence. I was reasonably close and was still being told they were waiting. When I was five minutes way... FIVE MINUTES... I was told they had to leave! Knowing I was that close, they COULD have met me, or waited, and I'd be writing a glowing review right now, but no... they abandoned me! I had to take a cab to catch up with them in Chianti for the lunch and wine tasting, at the cost of 100 Euros! And I couldn't even enjoy THAT because the guide felt it appropriate to repeatedly try and justify herself WHILE I WAS TRYING TO EAT, and making me so angry, I just plopped the plate aside and couldn't eat. So in addition to being abandoned, she ruined lunch as well. All I could say for the lunch is thank God there was wine! San Gimignano was far too brief... barely enough time to go up the hill and back, and maybe pick up a souvenir (something I didn't get to do in Siena). And for the rest of the trip, the A/C on the bus was only blowing air on a very, very hot day. Pisa was OK, because she pretty much left me alone (except for when she was trying to make conversation, but I was only giving her one word answers at that point). Our meeting point was at the beginning of what I call the Tourist Gauntlet--a bunch of kiosks selling souvenirs--rather than at the Piazza dei Miracoli, where the Tower is. For the remainder of the trip, I made sure I was absolutely early--no question--- and had all return points on map, so I had no repeat of Siena. I spent the remainder of the tour in fear of getting left behind again. I was thankful when the tour was finally over and I could feel safe. As for the tours themselves, it was mainly the bus ride. The guide didn't do all that much guiding, other than here's the meeting point, there's the town, good luck. At least with the Siena guide we saw a few things, otherwise it would have only been a walk up the road and back, and seeing nothing but shops. To be fair, in 2025, I took three tours with them and had a great time. Jacobo was a great guide. Not this year, though. I will be looking into other options, if there is a next time in Florence. After I calm down, I MIGHT give them another chance, but certainly not with the guide I had this time. That would be an instant deal-breaker.
Fantastic experience with our guide Lion and his colleague Camille. Despite the enormous heat of the day, the route (beautiful), and they themselves made the excursion wonderful. And our driver Mario was always attentive to drop off the bus and pick us up as close as possible. Everything was a 10!
