Characterful and knowledgeable guide who kept the tour interesting and informative. We were quite amazed at how well our guide knew his history and how enthusiastic he was given he’s been doing tours for a long time!
Dave was a great tour guide and an Absolute Mine of Information !!! The walk wasn’t difficult and is easily doable for the Elderly amongst us. His knowledge of the history of York is unsurpassed. Give yourself a couple of hours to do the tour and get back to your starting point. Well worth doing with Dave for the Education.
Dave Haws was the sweetest Yorkshire man who loved to tell stories and share his life with us. I thoroughly enjoyed feeling like I was walking with a family member on his tour.
Dave is an excellent tour guide. He is so knowledgeable and puts the information across in an understandable, and humorous, way. It is certainly not ‘off script’ which what we like. The tour was tailored to our small group and we certainly felt like we had seen some hidden gems. I would highly recommend this tour and Dave.
You saw and found out things about the City, which you wouldn’t get from a book or walking around d by yourselves. David was so interesting and knowledgeable of the area.
This is without doubt the best tour I ever went on, without exaggeration. I joined the tour by chance and am very, very happy about it. I love history and Dave knows everything about medieval York. We spend hours walking around the cathedral and York and he managed to answer nearly every question we had, even the obscure ones. It is ages that I had so much fun during a guiding tours, many tour guys I met just followed a script without much enthusiasm or deep knowledge about their topic. So if you love history and want a very very deep dive, I cannot recommend Dave enough.
Dave Haw was excellent. His knowledge of local history was outstanding and he delivered it in a very friendly way.
Dave was an excellent guide with a fantastic knowledge. He took us round York Minster and we really learnt a lot about this incredible building. His walk through York through the small back streets was very interesting and we had a great feel for how life was back in the medieval and recent times. If your visiting York book this tour and ask for Dave. You won’t be disappointed m.
Dan was absolutely wonderful. So much knowledge about so many things. He modified the tour on behalf of my wheelchair-bound husband. Highly recommend his tour.
Dave Yorkshire born and bred and his knowledge, humour and wonderful accent made for a fantastic walk tour!! A must do !!
