Commencez par Forte São Brás et découvrez son importance historique dans la défense de l'île ;
Sur Anjos, visitez les bassins de marée ainsi que la première église des Açores. Découvrez également l'escale mémorable de Christophe Colomb sur l'île.
Barreiro da Faneca, un géosite bien connu vous coupera le souffle avec son paysage ressemblant à Mars
Toujours au nord de l'île, jetez un coup d'œil à Ilhéu das Lagoinhas et arrêtez-vous à la paroisse de Santa Bárbara où ses habitants sont très fiers de préserver l'architecture unique de Santa Maria
Sur le chemin de São Lourenço, la plus belle baie des Açores, vous visiterez un autre géosite mémorable de l'île - une carrière abandonnée dont l'extraction intense dans le passé a conduit à un paysage incroyable - Poço da Pedreira.

Santo Espírito sera le prochain, la paroisse possédant le plus grand exemple du style baroque açorien - sa remarquable église;
Nous descendons vers Maia, une autre baie bien connue de l'île pour son paysage viticole ainsi que Cascata do Aveiro, la deuxième plus haute cascade du Portugal ;
Maintenant bien sur la côte sud, un autre géosite célèbre repose pour la contemplation - Ribeira do Maloás. Ses structures en forme de pilier sont le résultat d'une contraction horizontale qui s'est produite lorsque la lave s'est refroidie. Similaire à la Chaussée des Géants en Irlande, mais plus frais.
À côté de Pico Alto, point culminant de l'île où vous pouvez avoir une vue à 360º et apprécier tout ce que vous avez vu jusqu'à présent (si les conditions météorologiques le permettent !).
Terminez la visite à Praia Formosa, la plage de sable la plus populaire des Açores et hôte du plus ancien festival de musique ininterrompu du Portugal, le Festival Maré de Agosto depuis 1984.

There are no words to express our experience with Henrique and his amazing tour in Santa Maria! I have never had a tour with a guide with such a limitless variety and depth of knowledge, plus a charming, friendly and spiritual personality! In the end of the day we had a unique experience, we adored the beauties of this island and we gained serious knowledge about the Azores regarding history, geology, art and natural life. My sincerest recommendation for this tour, it's absolutely unique, don't miss it!
Exceptional! Henry was a spectacular guide, we loved it. We were two friends traveling and it was a whole day to know the best corners of the island. All very nice, highly recommend!!

It was very excellent, guide is very friendly and showed the fantastic places, a pity I wasn't at Pico Alto because it was very fog and rain. But it was very fantastic. I really loved it. Congratulations to the professional guide.

The tour was awesome! Is absolutely recommended if you want something special. The jeep takes you safely across the island and the guide has all the information. Lunch was simple but just right. In the end, there are even places that can be reached very easily to explore on your own the next day. Thank you for this experience:)

This was a wonderful back road view of the entire island, filled with facts about the history, the culture, the flora, and the natural landscape. The home made picnic of traditional food was an extra treat.
