Visite guidée des grottes de San José au départ de Valence avec Guide local

Description

Quite a long journey out to the location but the Caves were beautiful. Our tour guide was very welcoming and knowledgeable. I enjoyed the half day tour and would recommend it to others.
Great tour from beginning to end! Meet-up instructions were clear, the guides were on time (even early), the bus was cool, clean, and drove us very safely to and from our destination. Highly recommend booking tours with them!
We had a lovely afternoon trip to the Caves with guide Monika and driver Pedro. Monika have us lots of information about places in Valencia we passed and about the caves and boat trip. Once in the caves the boat ride is smooth and the caves interesting but the staff there are very strict about photo / video taking and touching the stalectite formations. I gave this trip 4 out of 5 because the coach air-conditioning wasn't working and the journey was exceptionally hot and uncomfortable.
Very interesting experience, very good communication about pick up and start. Very kind guides, always answered questions.
All good, beautiful experience. They practically do not allow you to take photos. They are quite strict.
The cave was cool, but the bus ride there was absolutely not. It was a ride to hell almost. The so called "ACed bus" barely had any AC, and you just sit there in your own pool of sweat for 45mins - 1 hour each way. Would absolutely not recommend doing this in the hot summer days, unless they can guarantee you a functional AC bus.
The caves are really neat, and are a great escape from the heat and the city. However the bus ride there and back completely ruined the experience for us. The bus was advertised as having AC, but it was either broken or not turned on at all. We were sweltering. Sweating buckets in the leather seats for the hour long bus ride with no airflow. The caves tour was too short to justify the ride on the bus from hell. Had it been properly air-conditioned, we might have been able to nap and enjoy our time in the caves more, but instead we all suffered and simply tried to make it through the grueling ride.
Here’s a polished but strongly worded review that keeps your main points while sounding like a genuine Tripadvisor review. I would not recommend this tour. It was advertised as a 4-hour guided experience, but in reality, about 3 of those 4 hours were spent sitting on a bus. If you’re expecting to spend most of your time exploring the caves, you’ll be very disappointed. Another major issue was that nowhere did they clearly explain beforehand that photography and video recording are not allowed inside the caves. Many of us only found out once we were already there, which was frustrating. The tour was also advertised as being conducted in both English and Spanish. While on the bus there was some English, once we entered the caves, the guide spoke almost exclusively in Spanish. None of the 14 English-speaking people in our group could understand what was being explained, so we completely missed out on the history and significance of the caves. To make matters worse, the advertisement claimed the bus was air-conditioned. It absolutely was not. The bus was unbearably hot, and the driver drove so slowly that there was almost no airflow. We spent hours feeling hot, sweaty, and uncomfortable. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. Between the excessive time on the bus, the lack of English during the actual cave tour, the misleading advertising about the air conditioning, and the poor communication about the no-photo policy, this tour was nowhere near worth the money. Save your money and look for another way to visit the caves.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear that the experience did not meet your expectations. We'd like to clarify a few points that may be helpful for future travelers. -The excursion is advertised as a 4-hour guided tour from Valencia, which includes round-trip transportation, the entrance to the San José Caves, and commentary from our guide during the journey. The drive takes approximately 45–50 minutes each way, while the cave interior visit itself lasts around 1 hour, including the underground boat ride and the walking section. -Regarding the language inside the caves, this is explained in our tour description. The boatmen are employed by the caves and may only speak Spanish. For this reason, our guide provides all the historical background and practical information in English before entering, and remains available after the visit and during the return journey to answer any questions or clarify anything that may have been missed. -The photography restrictions are established to help preserve this unique natural environment. While we understand this may be disappointing, these rules are beyond our control and apply to all visitors. -Concerning the AC, after receiving your comment we immediately checked with both the guide and the driver, who confirmed that the vehicle's AC was operating normally throughout the journey. As your concern was only raised during the final part of the return trip, we were unfortunately unable to identify any malfunction during the excursion itself. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Although we're sorry we couldn't meet your expectations, your feedback is valuable and helps us continue improving our service.
The tour itself was wonderful seeing the caves, our guide Jorge was awesome, I didnt give 5 stars because the day was very hot and the ac on the bus seemed to not fully work it was an extremely uncomfortable ride to and from the caves. I would most definitely do the tour again as long as we are given a different bus for transport.
Thank you very much for your feedback! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the visit to the Cuevas de San José and that Jorge made the experience so positive for you. We’ll be sure to pass your kind words on to him. We’re very sorry to hear about the discomfort during the transfer. On especially hot days, the air conditioning on some vehicles can be more challenging to maintain at full performance, but we understand how important a comfortable journey is. Your comment has been noted so we can review and improve the transport experience. We truly appreciate your honesty, and we’re glad to know you would still consider doing the tour again. We hope to welcome you back soon under even better conditions!
Wonderful way to beat the intense heat! A little under an hour drive north of Valencia. Very well organized. The boat guide did not speak English but was not a big deal. Great for kids and adults alike.
Thank you very much for your review! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed your visit to the Cuevas de San José and that it was a refreshing way to escape the summer heat. We hope to welcome you again on another excursion soon!
