I booked online which was supposed to come with a discount but when I dropped it off they said they wouldn’t honor the discount so much more expensive
Thank you for your review. We're sorry there was confusion regarding the pricing. Your original reservation was for a 2-hour bike rental only. Since later that day you chose to keep the bike for the full day, we upgraded your 2 hour rental to a day rental and charged the difference. The 20% online discount applies to reservations booked ahead of time for all-day rentals, as noted on our website. Because your booking was originally for a 2-hour rental and later extended, the all-day promotional discount did not apply to the upgraded portion. We had initially rented from Parkwide Bike & Rurrey rentals, but they handled a no-show without notice, which was very poor! Next, we walked past Bay City Bike rentals, who approached us asking if we wanted to rent bikes. We pointed out the "no-show Parkwide" issue, and they resolved it very nicely. We were extremely satisfied and rented two bikes from Bay City Rentals without any additional payment! It was amazing how they resolved the issue for us, spoke to us, and provided us with very well-maintained bikes. If you want to rent a bike with confidence, GO TO BAY CITY BIKE!!!! Thanks guys!!!

We rented our e-bikes from Marcus and had a great experience. He was very friendly and took plenty of time to explain everything to us, including the route to Battery Spencer and Sausalito. The bikes were in excellent condition and very comfortable to ride, even on the hills. The views from Battery Spencer were absolutely stunning and the ride to Sausalito was beautiful. We really enjoyed our trip and would definitely rent bikes here again. Highly recommended!

Awesome experience. Went to the Golden Gate and rode to the end. Coming back was amazing looking out towards the Pacific Ocean in the afternoon. Not difficult and very rewarding. Spiritual and healthy.

Great e-bikes, easy to use, good price, comfortable. We had a great day exploring at our own pace. Started with Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito, returned on ferry to pier 1 then explored the city winding out way to see The Painted Ladies. Bike coped easily with all the steep streets being able to ride all the way. In all we had the bikes for around 8hours making it a very cost effective way to see much of the city. Thoughly recommend

The most terrible and waist of time experience dealing with this unprofessional company. We hired bykes from San francisco bay for the day after an hour one of the bikes tyre came off the rim. We called. We asked for assistance on the help line after 20 min the assistance manager of the Bike shop by the Name of Leo answered very rudely puting the phone down on 4 occasions. When we did manage to speak to him he tried to blame us for the bike problem of which we found out later it was due to poor mentanance. He informed us we will need to wait for over an hour for road assistance or cut our bike ride short and come back by ferry. 2 of us said goodbye to our friends bought ferry tickets and went to return the bikes. We ended Walking with the bikes. Spoke to a person by the name of Christian as the manager was away on holiday who asked us to feel a form to complain. No money or any compensation was given to us he said a manager will call us back. No one did 3 days later. We left the shop very disappointed. Be careful they are happy to take your money but not give you any service.

Our staff followed standard roadside assistance procedures, which require confirming the booking and understanding the issue before dispatching help. Unfortunately, both callers became impatient and confrontational, making it difficult to assist, despite us offering solutions including roadside support and the option to return by ferry. The bike issue was not due to poor maintenance, but because the bike was ridden on a flat tire, as shown in the photo you provided. While we regret you left dissatisfied, we stand by our team’s professionalism and our procedures, which are in place to keep customers safe and supported.
Had reservations that aided our check -in that went very smoothly. Agent at the desk was fabulous in asking where we wished to go and provided guidance on route, spots for great pictures and areas to caution. Bikes were of high quality and well maintained. These folks earned an A+.

The bikes were excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient. We loved cycling along the coastline on the wide cycle paths. The ride over the Golden Gate Bridge was challenging with children due to high winds, lots of pedestrians and cyclists and the extreme noise of the car traffic. Make sure that younger members of your family are confident cycling on busy roads for their own safety if you choose to cycle all the way to Sausalito. Our kids were 9, 12 & 14.

Great experience from start to finish. The bikes were exactly what you would expect, well maintained and good to use. The staff were excellent at setting us up, making sure we had the right equipment. We got small tutorial on paths we could use and then we were off. Dropping the bikes off was easy as well.
