Visite guidée privée Sainte Chapelle & Conciergerie

We paid +$325 per person for a private guided tour of Sainte-Chapelle and the Conciergerie in September 2026. It was the worst experience of our trip. The day before, Tour Up in Europe called and asked us to move our date, even though their own listing says bookings cannot be changed for any reason. We had limited time in Paris and declined. The tour was no better. Our guide didn't know either site. No overview, no historical context, just scattered comments that were hard to follow, and no idea where Marie-Antoinette's cell was, which is central to the Conciergerie. We also waited in a long entry line at Sainte-Chapelle, on a private tour. This isn't about one guide. Tour Up in Europe sold a premium private experience, then sent someone unprepared instead of telling us there was a problem. A self-guided audio tour would have taught us more for a fraction of the price. Book elsewhere.

Excellent experience in a very small group setting. Ana, our tour guide, was exceptional. Her knowledge and insight were exemplary. She took her time, answered questions and was highly professional and flexible. Great tour!

Guide was super friendly! She cared about our kids, provided snacks and was very nice!

The tour guide was amazing. Informative, knowledgeable, and made sure to point out significant spots. She helped capture the beauty of the day and made sure to take pictures with our cameras of our family.

Saint Chapel is one of the most beautiful churches the world! I enjoyed this tour and my guide was very knowledgeable. In addition she fully customized this tour for me and showed me several other locations around. Highly recommended!

The tour guide did not know much about Sainte Chapelle or Conciergerie. Even basic questions in Sainte Chapelle such as “what are the stained glass panels about.” She would google the questions on her phone before answering. In the Conciergerie she did not even know where Marie Antoinette’s cell was (the main attraction) and had to ask. I was deeply frustrated and bored for 2 hours. I reached out to the tour company- they were unhelpful and did not offer any solution. I returned the next day and used the audio guide and iPad guide. Much better experience.

We really enjoyed this experience! Our guide was knowledgeable , funny and customozed our tour to suit our need. We had a fantastic time learning about French history, royalty, revolution. We would do this again next time we are in Paris!

I’ve read about the French Revolution, but this tour made me feel like I lived it. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and gave context to everything we saw. The entry being included made it seamless and easy.

I asked ahead if we could keep the tour more about the history and less about religion, and it was no problem at all. The guide was super respectful and focused on the culture, the art, and the big picture.
