Description
Les Rwenzoris, ou les montagnes de la lune, sont célèbres pour leur beauté. Entourées presque toujours de brume, elles ont un charme, féérique et sont sources de nombreux contes à travers les âges. Rwenzori est surtout connu pour ses randonnées difficiles et la possibilité de montée avec un paysage unique dans des montagnes de l'Afrique de l'est. Rwenzori n'est pas d'origine volcanique, mais elle s'élève directement de la vallée du rift. Sa chaîne préserve également une diversité d'animaux fascinants, y compris des mammifères et environ 177 espèces d'oiseaux, avec plusieurs espèces endémiques Albertines. C'est la plus haute chaîne de l'Afrique, avec ses nobles monts escarpés, le Margherita (5 109 m) et l'Alexandra (5 083m) sur le Mont Stanley, qui sont nettement à une altitude supérieure qu'ailleurs en Afrique à part le Mont Kilimandjaro. We feel so lucky to have had Patrick as our guide during our time in Uganda.
