This trip was fantastic. I was nervous for various reasons but right from when we landed, Chameleon had everything covered. Most of the accommodation was fantastic and the same for the food. I requested vegetarian and the company ensured I had plenty to eat every day. The food was varied, plentiful and good quality. The activities were brilliant - beautiful wildlife and scenery. A once in a lifetime experience. Final shout out to our superb guide Gideon who kept us safe, comfortable and well informed for the week.
The trip was amazing! Our guide, Simon, was outstanding. He was very punctual and kept everyone moving, but allowed sufficient time at all the stops. He also made everyone feel included in the group. The price was quite reasonable considering all the accommodations, food, and travel expenses. Each of the stops was spectacular in its own way. Overall a very memorable trip which I will cherish forever!
The 7 day Taste of Namibia lodging tour was an incredible experience from beginning to end! Booking was handled flawlessly by Ingrid. Pickup at the airport and delivery to Chameleon Backpackers Lodge was seamless, and we got to know some of our group of 12 before we ever left Windhoek. The absolute crown jewel of the trip was our guide, Simon. Our group became more than just a tour, it was like family. Simon kept us all on track and on time, amused us and taught us with his stories, and generally made sure we were all well taken care of. Everything we experienced (N/a'an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary, Etosha, Swakopmund, Sossusvlei, Sesriem Canyon, visits to the Herero and Himba people…) would have been fantastic to visit even on our own, but Simon turned it into a magical experience by making sure we understood the history and meaning of what we saw. He also introduced us to the “African Massage” and bush toilets 😂. He provided wonderful discussions at all our meals. Oh, and he is the Elephant Whisperer, if you are looking to see elephants! He was truly a pleasure to be around, always smiling and cheerful, and anyone considering this trip should absolutely ask for Simon!! This whole trip was a great value for the money.

My best friend and I toured Namibia with chameleon backpackers. It was FANTASTIC! Our tour guide Smith-ley was the absolute best. He was full of knowledge, fun, kind, and a great guide! I have celiac disease and he was so careful with our meals and homemade lunches! He definitely made the tour so much better! This specific tour covered everything we wanted and we added an option sandwich harbour visit! I can’t say anything bad about this trip!

This was one of the most incredible experiences of my life, and was well worth it for literally every second. I met many other amazing people on this adventure, including my guide Kennedy. I cannot overstate how far above and beyond he went to ensure we all had the best possible experience and I hope he is doing well. His knowledge of the country is second to none and it was greatly appreciated. The desert was like nothing i have ever seen before and getting to see so many different animals in the wild like that truly special

Gideon our driver and organiser was first class. Strongly recommend. Only problem was the quality of the roads. We drove 2200km on none tarred roads and bounced all over. Locals call this African massage but it's very very uncomfortable. The trip was well organized and the rooms excellent. Staaf everywhere so friendly. Nature is incredible. Strongly recommend chameleon. Well done worth the money.

It was an excellent tour. The person that made it so good was Anton our guide who we highly recommend. He was very knowledgeable about all aspects of Namibia, drove very carefully and skilfully, organised everything from activities, to restaurant bookings and balloon ride. We had a medical emergency and he was most kind and helpful. Chameleon Safaris are very lucky to have a guy like him guiding their guests. The accommodation at Etosha Village and Sossusvlei was very good with very tasty meals. The Backpacker, Swakopmund hotel and Etosha park camp were more basic but perfectly acceptable. Thanks once again to Anton, the perfect guide!
