Frodie was a great tour guide. We thoroughly enjoyed the info he provided. Because he is a local he was knowledgeable. Private tour much better than a bus load!
Traffic was seriously congested where we were supposed to meet our tour guide. The owner himself came, met us in his personal truck to take us to our 1st destination so we would not be behind on schedule, from there it was very nice arrangements. Overall I would recommend this company for all your shore excursion needs.
Amazing views and excellent service. Our driver was super friendly and worked hard to ensure we enjoyed all the activities. We went to the park, enjoyed the beach, and even went on the glass boat tour (boat tickets were not included in the tour price). The driver also stopped at several viewpoints to allow us to take pictures. Just let the driver know if you want to add activities or go to different places. My family and I had a great time at Roatan.
The trip was wonderfull. Our guide Artmon was very attentive, competent, and made us this day memorable. We enjoyed Rocatan and in particularly, the Natural Park Gumbalimba. The park is well looked after and presents beyond monkeyes, guanas and macas Rocatan's history. The insectarium is also amaising. All in all, the trip was well organized and performed. Thank you, Artmon again.
The animal park was amazing I really loved the macaws and monkeys! ALLEN, the tour guide was so nice ! I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Great tour guide! He was flexible and offered to take us anywhere. Saw the Park and animals, very interesting!! Went for an interesting horse back ride, guide made it fun! Stopped at the rum and chocolate factories!
Thank you for your feedback it's very important to us and thank you again for choosing us for your Roatan Excursion
The PROS: Our Driver, Paul, started out a little quiet, but warmed up and answered questioned as we asked. He was very knowledgable of the area, and as a lifelong resident, he had many personal stories to share. My wife and I dont drink so we passed on the Rum tasting. He gave us a great tour of the Island and even made a stop at a local grocery and few stores at our request. He accomodated us and really made our tour personalized. The Park was beautiful and the animals we saw were great. Loved the chance to have Parrots and monkeys on us. The CONS: Honestly, I did feel a little rushed at the Animal sanctuary, our young guide was very nice, but we always felt a bit rushed. I was disappointed that the bug display was only dead bugs, was hoping to see live insects in display. I was looking forward, as I saw in a picture, the chance to hold a sloth. Didnt see any. We were never directed towards a pool area or food. Just pointed towards the gift shop and corralled to the golfcart and driven back to our van/driver. I noticed a snack bar of sorts, but all I saw were over priced sodas, drinks and chips and maybe hotdogs. Nothing too inviting. Finally. in the title, it says "Preservation Park & Horseback Ride", we never had a horse ride of anykind, nor even saw any horses. When I asked our guide about the horse ride, he was surprised. He was unaware of any horserides. we dropped it and heading back to port Overall we enjoyed the experience, great driver, nice guide, pretty clean park, well trained monkeies and Parrots, but we were left wanting more for the price, particularly a sloth (famous in Roatan) and a horseride.
Gumbalimba park was nice but kinda expensive for what it was. We were done with our tour in about an hour. We didn’t visit their beach so I can’t comment on that part. We did enter their bug/butterfly room and I was surprised to only see preserved bugs in display cases. I was left with wanting to see these bugs/butterflies alive in a walk in enclosure of some sort. I loved interacting with the macaws and the monkeys, but that’s really all you’re paying for. The guide and animal handlers were nice and knowledgeable. Overall - If you want a good photo op and good amount of time with animals I’d say it’s a nice visit.
Hi hope all is well am glad you was able to enjoy your self get a lot of photos to share and am also sorry u feel like you was over charge but it's the price of the park sorry u feel that way but everyone pays it if they want to try the park from 3 years and onward
This tour was not worth it and the title is deceiving. The title makes it seem as if you will go to gumbalimba and a west bay beach. The beach is the small beach at gumbalimba. There were numerous reviews that mentioned going to another beach. I asked if we could go to another beach because I thought we were going to gumbalimba and a local beach. I was told no other beaches. For that I would have been better off doing the option with the cruise as it was cheaper and faster. The cruise ships have shuttle buses going back to the port every hour from gumbalimba. The entire experience started off very rough. We had a 9am meet up time. We made it to them 7 minutes before 9am. We were told to stand to the side where another family was already waiting. We had young children with us ages 4-10. There is no where to sit as it’s just dirt and gravel. After over 15 minutes of waiting, I asked how much longer before our driver arrives. As this was a private excursion, I expected the driver to be there close to 9am, the time the excursion was set to start. Anderson shared there was heavy traffic and asked we wait a few more minutes. I went back over to my family and 5 minutes later Anderson says your driver is here. I see the driver but no vehicle, so I inquired. He shared since we didn’t want to wait we would need to walk to the parking lot where the car is parked. He shared it was just down the street. It didn’t feel if we had a choice, as the driver was already there and he didn’t ask us if we preferred to wait or preferred to walk. We grabbed all of our belongings. The driver didn’t help carry any and off we went walking down the side of the road (no sidewalks). We walked swiftly in the sun, at times, in the grass, some muddy areas, as the traffic went by. It was hot and everyone was sweating. We asked how much longer is the walk. Then we came upon a zipline canopy area with a shop and a bench. Our driver told us to sit at the bench while he went to get the car. By this time, we are all hot and sweating. The children were not happy and cranky. It took another 10 minutes or so before he arrived with the car. It was around 9:30. All in all we waisted 40 minutes. Luckily we had our own water as they didn’t provide any. This also let me know there is no way this driver was on his way to meet us by 9 then had enough time to turn around and go pack the car then walk to where we were waiting. I don’t think they had any plans of having a driver by 9am to meet us. The drive to gumbalimba was as about 30 minutes. After our driver parked we almost had to walk again to the main entrance but the staff saw us and picked us up in the golf cart. The driver paid for the tickets then we waited for the Gumbalimba tour to start. Gumbalimba itself was enjoyable. It was a lot of waiting for the various experiences as we arrived AFTER the cruise ship groups. The driver was polite. He secured a table at the small beach for us. On our way back to the port, he let us stop to take a picture at the Roatan sign. Overall, I would not book this private tour again. It was too much hassle to do with young children. It cost more and was much more hassle than going with the cruise.
Hi hope all is well the way your saying your trying with all your might to make sound bad is possible When you arrive it was pass 9am local time already long gone I told you guys fismrst group had already left I meet you guys personaly I dispatch you all personaly I told you the van had already left was going to put you guys on another van just your party you agreed u saw the traffic with your own eyes standing beside me while receiving other Guest right or wrong the Driver went for his car we wanted about 15 to 20 minutes not 40 after the Driver provided was still stock in traffic after it has been a motocycle accident I told another Driver to walk you guys over to his car and to had drop you off to Gumbalimba Park then the other Driver would had pick u guys up u agreed again once we take u to the park and check u in to the office get your risa band we cant follow u in to the park we have to wait outside in the parking lot the property is over 10 acres thats why they ask if you are in good walking condition cause there is some walk or you can higher a golf cart to go through after finish they have the beach and pool down in there if u dont want to stay there and want to go to the bigger beach as some Guest want to you can just that you have to pay for the Resort facilites
August was our tour guide and did an amazing job. You will not leave the tour without any questions about the island and lives of the people that live there. The animals were friendly and we were able to take amazing pictures. The beach was absolutely gorgeous and the food had me blown away. Thank you August for an amazing experience and an everlasting memory of my trip to Roatan.
