Préparez-vous à une journée entière d'aventure en pagayant au cœur de la luxuriante forêt tropicale du Costa Rica, sur la célèbre rivière Pacuare. Ce parcours palpitant comprend 29 km de rapides de classe III et IV, parfaits aussi bien pour les débutants que pour les pagayeurs confirmés (à partir de 12 ans). Votre journée commence par un départ matinal depuis votre hôtel à San José, suivi d'un trajet panoramique à travers Cartago et la campagne jusqu'à Turrialba. En chemin, profitez d'un délicieux petit-déjeuner compris dans le prix avant d'arriver au point de mise à l'eau. Après un briefing sur la sécurité et l'ajustement de l'équipement par vos guides expérimentés, l'aventure commence ! Naviguez sur des rapides palpitants tels que Huacas, Rodeo, Pinball et Dos Montañas, en faisant des pauses pour admirer les cascades et la magnifique forêt tropicale. À mi-parcours, faites une pause pour pique-niquer au bord de la rivière, en pleine nature. 1. Turrialba – Petit-déjeuner traditionnel costaricien et route panoramique Durée : 1 heure • Entrée incluse Commencez votre aventure par une route panoramique de San José à la belle région de Turrialba, entourée de montagnes ondulantes, de terres agricoles luxuriantes et de forêts tropicales. En route vers la rivière, profitez d'un copieux petit-déjeuner traditionnel costaricien comprenant du gallo pinto, des œufs, des fruits tropicaux frais, des tortillas et du café costaricien préparé localement. Cet arrêt offre l'occasion parfaite de faire le plein d'énergie pour une journée excitante de rafting tout en admirant la campagne paisible. 2. Tres Equis – Briefing de sécurité et base de rafting Durée : Environ 2 heures • Admission incluse Arrivez au centre des opérations de rafting où vous rencontrerez votre équipe de guides de rafting bilingues certifiés professionnellement. Avant de vous lancer sur la rivière, les invités reçoivent une orientation complète sur la sécurité couvrant les techniques de pagaie, les commandes de rivière, les procédures de sauvetage et l'utilisation appropriée de l'équipement. Chaque participant se voit fournir un équipement de rafting entretenu professionnellement comprenant : ✔ Gilet de sauvetage approuvé par la Garde côtière ✔ Casque de sécurité certifié ✔ Pagaie ✔ Équipement de sécurité complet pour le rafting Aucune expérience préalable en rafting n'est nécessaire. Vos guides experts s'assurent que chacun se sente à l'aise et préparé avant de commencer l'aventure.
3. Huacas – Le spectaculaire canyon de Pacuare Durée : Environ 2 heures • Entrée incluse Poursuivez à travers l'une des sections les plus époustouflantes de la rivière Pacuare. Des parois de canyon imposantes s'élèvent de manière spectaculaire au-dessus de la rivière tandis qu'une dense forêt tropicale vous entoure des deux côtés. Cette zone reculée n'est accessible que par la rivière, ce qui en fait l'un des trésors naturels cachés du Costa Rica. Naviguez à travers des rapides exaltants de classe III et IV avant de dériver à travers des sections plus calmes où vous pourrez pleinement apprécier le paysage incroyable. 4. Rivière Pacuare – Aventure de rafting en eaux vives et déjeuner au bord de l'eau Durée : Environ 3 heures • Entrée incluse Vivez le point culminant de votre journée en descendant l'une des plus belles rivières en eaux vives du monde. Votre aventure combine des rapides excitants avec des tronçons paisibles d'eau claire où des cascades se jettent directement dans la rivière et une forêt tropicale luxuriante entoure chaque virage. Un des moments les plus mémorables est de naviguer dans un rapide de Classe IV exaltant qui se précipite entre des parois de canyon imposantes, offrant à la fois de l'adrénaline et un paysage inoubliable. À mi-parcours du voyage, arrêtez-vous à un endroit paisible au bord de la rivière pour profiter d'un délicieux déjeuner de style pique-nique entouré d'une nature préservée avant de continuer en aval. Après avoir terminé l'expérience de rafting, retournez au centre d'opérations pour vous changer en vêtements secs avant de commencer le trajet confortable de retour à San José.

Because of daily changes in water level, flow, and almost daily rain, you may or may not be able to go down the Pacuare River. The morning of our tour we were informed that we could not go down the Pacuare because of too much water and dangerous conditions. So they took us down the Pejibaye River. It was really a beautiful and fun river with class 2 and 3 rapids and beautiful jungle scenery, but not the jaw dropping beauty of the Pacuare with its class 3 and 4 rapids. We were disappointed in the change, but understand that these guides take safely seriously and found a great alternative nearby. Our guides were fantastic and lots of fun. The entire experience was professional and well executed.

Explorers A must-do in Costa Rica!!!! We were a family with three teenagers, 13, 15, and 17, and there were six of us plus a guide in one raft. The tour started at 8:00 AM with breakfast. We were at the river around ten. We took a break halfway through with fresh pineapple and then continued until 2:00 PM. There are many class three and four rapids on the Pacuare River! It is super fun but certainly not entirely without danger! In any case, muscle soreness afterward is guaranteed 🤣

We had the pleasure of experiencing the Pacuare whitewater rafting as part of a group trip. A good hour into the jungle - there an unusual and heartwarming stopover with two overnight stays and then about 3 hours out of the jungle back to normality - a real highlight of our trip

Absolutely do not risk your vacation or your health with this company. This was one of the worst and most unsafe experiences I have ever had while traveling. I have gone whitewater rafting four times before in the U.S. and other places, and I have never fallen into the water or been injured like this. With this company in Costa Rica, I ended up seriously injuring my knee, needing a wheelchair, and ruining the rest of my Costa Rica trip. The raft guides were very disrespectful and constantly talked down to people instead of making anyone feel safe. Their attitude was horrible. They acted like they knew everything, but they did not seem properly trained or capable of controlling the raft when the river got rough. People were falling into the water, the situation felt chaotic, and the guides seemed more focused on blaming guests than actually doing their job. Whitewater rafting is already risky, but this felt unsafe because of the guides, not just the river. They seemed inexperienced, unprepared, and extremely unprofessional. I have rafted before and know the difference between a normal adventure activity and a poorly managed, dangerous operation. This was the first time I was seriously injured, and I believe it could have been avoided if the guides were better trained and more responsible. This place is highly overrated. If you are visiting from the U.S. or anywhere else, I strongly recommend staying away. You could seriously get hurt here. The unprofessional staff, poor control, and unsafe environment made this a terrible experience from start to finish. Absolutely do not risk your vacation or your health with this company.
