Avoid at all costs!

In one word - terrible. We came to Bucharest in large part for this tour. We woke up early, hurried downstairs of our hotel and proceeded to wait an hour for the tour operator who NEVER arrived. Not only that, the operator also NEVER responded to our messages nor to calls or emails from Viator. Viator handled the situation very poorly. When we called after waiting about 20 minutes already they said we needed to wait an hour even though neither us or Viator could get in contact with the operator. Horrible operator and Viator is also at fault for failing to properly screen it's operators. Viator sends reminders to customers and it could easily send confirmations to operators REQUIRING them to respond BEFORE the tour. Had we know a few days before that the tour operator would not conduct the tour we could have sought other arrangements. Viator ruined our trip to Bucharest and all they could say is they would "request" a refund. No effort to book another tour and no offer of any future consideration (such as 50% off next tour) . Terrible customer service by ALL involved.

Day trip to Transylvania

Lovely experience , long day but made easier with our lovely guide and driver Marius , who gave a lot of historical facts and life in Romania in general..This was a better idea than going with the tour bus definitely as we had two young kids . We went to peles castle then castle where the film Wednesday was filmed ( not in the tour but driver made a detour ) and then Bran castle and Braşov in the end . Marius stopped for toilets and was a very enjoyable company throughout . Would definitely recommend booking a private tour !!!

It was nice to have a private tour and to have all entry tickets provided. That made it a better experience.

Dracula can't hold a candle to Peles....

The main attraction is obviously Bran, or Dracula's Castle but Peles Castle is one of the most beautiful castles I have ever seen and I have seen many on my travels throughout Europe. Also, our guide Gabriel is a literal Wikipedia of knowledge and not just about the castles. His knowledge of the country and area was such an educational experience for us and was also a highlight. The only negative was road construction on the only road from Peles to Bran and those 30 miles took us 3 hours. As a result we had to skip the portion that went to Brasov which was unfortunate. Regardless of that, it was a great day seeing two very different castles, the gorgeous Romania countryside and the mystical Carpathian mountains.

Royal Romanian History

Guide (Tudor) was font of information about Romanian royals—not as much info as I would have liked about Dracula and early castle history. Driver was great! Lots of traffic meant we got back 2-1/2 hours late (14+ hour day). Big crowds everywhere.

Fantastic tour, amazing sights, and exceptional guide & driver team!

Our guide Ana and driver Florin could not have done a better job of safely navigating and learning about the beautiful land, people, and features of Transylvania in the Romanian historical context. Ana clearly knows and is adored by everyone at the sites - helping us quickly explore crowded castles. No time was wasted so we had plenty of time in the spots that mattered. She listened to our interests and nicely focused on those. An unexpected bonus that we thoroughly enjoyed was the friendly banter between guide and driver. A glimpse of Romanian culture, while still giving us some quiet time along the way.

Fun day with lots of different experiences

Great day, saw so much and our guide was fun and helpful. If you have a short visit to Romania but want to see as much as possible this is the perfect tour! My daughter really enjoyed it to, and teenagers are hard to please!

Dynamic Duo!!

From Snagov to Sinaia monasteries to Romanian Chocolate, then Transylvanian’s Pelesto and Bran castles, ending with Brasov and a Romanian restaurant, our day was perfect!! Dan & Marios were a delight, informative, and we’d recommend this dynamic duo to one and all!!
