We went all day and it was a beautiful experience
An amazing cultural experience! I really enjoyed visiting the 6 islands learning about Polynesian history and culture. The presentations were lively, and festive. The entire staff was so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Each area of the center builds on the next and it all comes together cohesively at the evening show. Perfect for everyone would definitely recommend!
It’s wonderful to hear that you enjoyed learning about the six islands and their cultures. We’re glad the presentations, activities, and evening show came together to create a memorable experience for you. Thank you for recommending us!
This is truly a unique and educational experience. So, first of all, this is a full-day trip: we left Waikiki at about 10 in the morning and didn't get back until 10 at night. The lu'au is located in the town of La'ie, on the north shore, which is on the opposite side of the island from Waikiki. Keep in mind that this trip requires a full day. The lu'au features a ton of activities to do. Our itinerary was full from around 12 noon until 8 pm. Most of the people who are working at the lu'au are students from the nearby Brigham Young University, and they are showcasing their cultures from around the Pacific Islands. There are short talks, presentations, interactive activities, and of course, a lot of dancing. I learned a lot about the history and cultures of the peoples of Aotearoa (New Zealand), Tonga, Hawai'i, Tahiti, Samoa, and Fiji. And, since the presentations come from students who are actually from all of these places, it lends a great degree of authenticity and earnestness to the topics that are being presented. If you are interested in learning about these cultures, you will enjoy this tour. Later on in the evening, there is a hula show during dinner (good food!), and then a live show (Ha: the Breath of Life), filled with stunning performances. I got the super ambassador package, so my husband and I were accompanied by a guide, Joseph. Joseph was so amazing! He was friendly, informative, funny, and did an excellent job of taking care of us and making sure that we were comfortable throughout the day. He is an absolute gem. He helped us to navigate our way through the attractions and made sure that we saw all of the presentations on time. Having a guide like Joseph helped us with pacing our day. I would definitely recommend this trip to others. The only thing to worry about is transportation. I booked this package through Tripadvisor, and I don't think that there was an option to inlcude transportation in my booking. I ended up having the concierge at my hotel call the Polynesian Cultural Center and reserve two seats on their shuttle bus that was leaving that same morning from Waikiki. I would recommend booking directly through the Polynesian Cultural Center: maybe they will give you an option to reserve a seat on their shuttle bus. Of course, if you're driving in your own car, then that's not an issue.
We’re so happy that Joseph helped make your full day comfortable, organized, and enjoyable! It sounds like you were able to experience so much of the Center, from the villages and activities to the luau and the HA: Breath of Life show. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with him! Mahalo nui loa!
Great experience I will definitely be coming back. Amazing people and food.
It’s wonderful to hear that you and your son had such a great time! We’re glad you enjoyed the people, food, and experience. We look forward to your next visit!
This was a great day filled with all the highlights! We didn’t have to wait in line for anything and had reserved seats at the showed and dinner. Our guide was fun and it was fun as she shared her culture with us!
We’re glad the VIP experience helped you enjoy the highlights comfortably! It’s wonderful that your guide shared her culture with you and made the day memorable.
Awesome visit! Really loved it here.
We’re happy you had such a great visit and enjoyed your time at the Center! We hope to see you again.
We loved being guided around PCC with Moses as our Guide. The entire fell of the experience was just fantastic! We arrived at 12:15 and by the time it was time for the luau Dinner, Moses had already led us through most of the villages, our private canoe tour, several demonstrations and other activities. We were so glad to have additional days to return and visit additional areas of the Center. The food at the Luau was great, the evening show with the fire dancers was awesome! Every one of my 18 family members has a great time and wanted to go back for days 2 and 3!
It sounds like your entire group had an incredible time! We’re glad Moses helped you experience so much during your first day and that you had more time to explore afterward. We hope your family enjoyed every moment of your return visits!
Our tour guide, Mes, was amazing -made sure we got to see the coolest parts of each island, and the luau was great - our server Fen was very attentive. Would absolutely recommend.
We’re so glad Mes helped make your day enjoyable and that you got to experience the highlights of each island. It’s wonderful to hear that you also enjoyed the luau and Fen’s attentive service. Thank you for recommending us!
Our guide Buba was absolutely amazing and had so much information to share with us. She was so patient with our two kiddos and my grandparents. Our waiter at the luau ( Koko) he was so helpful and accommodating. The shows were all great. HIGHLY recommend coming and spending a least a day here.
Buba and Koko will be so happy to hear this! We’re glad they helped make the day enjoyable and comfortable for your whole family.
I also opted, to do the total island tour before the Polynesian Cultural Center. I totally enjoyed that portion of the tour. The Polynesian Cultural Center was excellent. My tour guide, Leso, was very informative. He provided a fabulous tour. I had a great time. The luau was very tasty. My server, Deb, was attentive and made sure that I had everything that I needed. I recommend, to do the super ambassador package. It provides everything for an excellent experience.
Leso and Deb will be happy to hear they helped make your experience so enjoyable. We’re glad you made the most of your visit with the Super Ambassador package! Mahalo nui loa!
