Description
Montez dans la vallée d'Henderson pour admirer une vue spectaculaire sur les chaînes Waitakere depuis le centre d'accueil d'Aratkai. Cette réserve régionale protégée était à l’origine utilisée pour l’extraction du bois indigène à l’époque coloniale, alors qu’Auckland était en cours de colonisation dans les années 1860. Nous visitons ensuite la magnifique plage de sable noir de la côte ouest de Piha. Promenez-vous sur les plages de Piha Nord et Sud. Profitez d'une promenade de 25 min à travers la forêt tropicale. Prenez des photos de Lion Rock Après 50 minutes de route à travers la forêt tropicale, dégustez du vin et prenez un menu ouvert un déjeuner d'un plat au restaurant Soljans Vineyard. Fondée en 1937, Soljans propose un menu innovant avec une gamme de plats locaux de poisson frais, steak, agneau, poulet, végétarien et autres. Dans l'après-midi, nous visitons la pittoresque cave West Brook où ils ont un portefeuille unique de blancs et de rouges variétaux que vous pouvez apprécier en surplombant le vignoble.

Piha est une colonie de plage de surf de la côte ouest à 50 km d'Auckland avec une population d'environ un millier d'habitants. Il est isolé sans transports en commun et est populaire pour le surf, la nature et la randonnée. Considéré comme l'un des joyaux de la couronne d'Auckland, c'est une excellente excursion d'une journée pour nager, faire de la randonnée, camper ou simplement se détendre sur les plages de sable noir et admirer la forêt et les paysages magnifiques.
Soljans Estate est une famille de vignerons croates de cinquième génération. Goûtez les vins de leur vignoble d'Auckland et des cépages issus de raisins cultivés dans la baie de Hawkes et Marlborough. Ils ont également un excellent bistrot de vignoble primé où vous pourrez profiter d'un déjeuner à menu ouvert.
Pionniers de la viticulture néo-zélandaise depuis 1944, Kumeu River se spécialise dans la production de Estate Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir et Methode Traditionelle à partir de raisins cultivés sur leurs propres dix vignobles Kumeu et Huapai. Le Chardonnay fermenté barrique du Maté est considéré comme l’un des meilleurs vins du pays. Après avoir obtenu son baccalauréat en sciences œnologiques en Australie, le vigneron Michael Brajkovich MW est devenu le premier maître du vin de Nouvelle-Zélande et a été juge en chef du Air New Zealand Wine Competition. Vous profiterez d'une dégustation de cinq vins à la porte de la cave, puis vous ferez une visite fascinante des coulisses de la cave où vous serez montré de première main le processus de création du chardonnay fermenté en fûts. Du début à la fin du processus, pressage des raisins puis vers le bas dans la salle des barriques et enfin de retour par le parc de réservoirs et la ligne d'embouteillage. Aucune autre compagnie touristique ne peut vous montrer cela.

Our schedule got seriously messed up when a cyclone swept through the Auckland area. That said, John was fantastic working with us to accommodate our schedule, and was able to combine our group with a couple who were touring with him on the day we finally made it to Auckland. The winery tours were excellent - we learned the history of the families who came to New Zealand to establish their businesses, and lunch at Soljans was outstanding! Our visit to the shore was a little rainy, but we still were able to see the black sand beaches and the areas where gannets were recently gathering. Big thank you to John for his efforts to make our visit to Auckland a pleasure!
John was the perfect operator, initially unobtrusively giving us an outline of our day, then honing in on our questions in detail. The beach was something else to see in person, pictures don't show how awesome the view is. The lunch and wine sampling was top notch. John with his many years of doing tours was very knowledgeable and made things run smoothly but you felt never rushed.

This excursion was absolutely fantastic. The views were breathtaking and the stops were made were perfect. John was the perfect guide. We went to two wonderful wineries and stopped for a spectacular lunch of fresh fish. John went way out of his way to make this adventure a day to remember. My sister and I had the best time and we loved every minute of it. I needed to buy a medical device and asked John where I can buy it. He not only told me where to get it, but he went out of his way to take me to this place to buy it and drove me back to the hotel. This man is an angel and we were lucky enough to have met him.
Very inclusive tour with beautiful scenery, great wine tastings at 2 local wineries, delicious meal. Guide very engaging and knowledgeable. Took in beaches, lake views, rainforest, waterfalls, etc. Be prepared with comfortable walking shoes, layered clothing.
