Il s’agit d’une visite privée, c’est-à-dire que ce n’est que vous ou votre groupe. Contrairement à un circuit à itinéraire fixe, ce circuit vous permet de visiter les attractions de votre choix. La visite commence à partir du point de retrait. Pour une visite de 4 heures, vous pouvez sélectionner 2 à 3 attractions sur l'île de Penang (le temps de trajet n'est pas inclus dans la durée). Khoo Kongsi Vous décidez quels endroits visiter et combien de temps passer à chacun. Vous pouvez explorer en profondeur ou simplement prendre des photos et passer à autre chose. À l’époque coloniale britannique, la communauté Chinoise de Penang prospérait, pratiquant sa foi avec dévotion et construisant de nombreux temples grandioses – certains disaient rivaliser, voire dépasser, ceux de Chine. L'un des plus renommés est Kek Lok Si, souvent décrit comme le plus grand complexe de temples bouddhistes d'Asie du Sud-Est, ressemblant à un parc à thème spirituel. Construit en 1985, le visiteur peut en apprendre davantage sur le bouddhisme, le taoïsme et le confucianisme tout en explorant ses pagodes magnifiquement ouvragées, ses lanternes vibrantes, ses statues complexes et ses jardins paisibles. Ne manquez pas la vue imprenable sur George Town depuis l'enceinte du temple. Comme disent les habitants : « Vous n’êtes pas allé à Penang à moins d’avoir visité Penang Hill et Kek Lok Si. »
Penang Hill, est une destination touristique populaire connue pour son climat frais, ses vues panoramiques et sa riche biodiversité. S'élevant à 833 mètres d'altitude, il offre une évasion rafraîchissante de la chaleur tropicale en contrebas. Accessible par le funiculaire historique, la colline présente des attractions comme The Habitat, des bâtiments de l'époque coloniale, des temples et des ponts d'observation surplombant George Town et le détroit de Malacca. Sa forêt tropicale luxuriante abrite une faune et une flore variées, ce qui la rend idéale pour les amoureux de la nature. Penang Hill joue également un rôle dans les efforts de conservation et promeut l'écotourisme par des pratiques durables et des programmes éducatifs.
La rue Harmony de Penang, officiellement connue sous le nom de Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling, illustre l’harmonie multiculturelle de la Malaisie. Roulez le long de cette rue unique pour voir quatre grands monuments religieux se côtoyer : commencer par l’église Saint-Georges (christianisme), puis le temple de la Déesse de la Miséricorde (taoïsme), suivi du temple Sri Mahamariamman (hindouisme) et ensuite la mosquée Kapitan Keling (islam). Cette proximité de lieux de culte divers symbolise la tolérance religieuse et la coexistence culturelle de Penang.
L'artiste lituanien Ernest Zacharevic laisse sa marque avec de magnifiques peintures murales représentant des enfants dans tout Georgetown historique. Les œuvres sont drôles, fascinantes et très ouvertes aux interprétations de chacun. Conduisez autour de Old George Town pour voir et prendre une photo ou deux des arts de la rue magiques créés par Ernest comme “Children on Bicycle”, “Boy on Motorcycle”, “Dinosaur” et “Climbing Wall” ou d'autres œuvres d'artistes comme “Reaching Out”, “Children on Swing” et Children and basketball".
Destination pittoresque animée avec un village traditionnel de maisons rustiques sur pilotis au-dessus de l'eau. Promenez-vous sur la passerelle en planches pour voir comment les habitants vaquent à leurs occupations quotidiennes sur la jetée, prenez de belles photos de la vue sur le port, de l'emblématique Penang Ferry et du pont de Penang et achetez une babiole ou deux ou dégustez une boisson glacée fraîche dans cette enclave chaude et charmante.

We throughly enjoyed our half day tour with Jeff this week. We already had sent him a message ahead with some ideas of what we wanted to see and what we had already done independently. He pulled together a varied and well-paced itinerary which took exactly 4 hours from the pick up. There was a god mix of driving to locations and then walking around a variety of sights - which we appreciated in the hot late morning su. Our itinerary included a number of temples, mosques, the waterfront and the UNESCO heritage centre. Jeff was able to answer all our questions and even found us an excellent cafe for a quick coffee stop near Lim jetty. We thought this was well-priced and best suits independent travellers who have done some initial research and have an idea what they would like to do. Note this is a private guided tour - you will not be sharing the experience with other travellers (a bonus!)

Our family of four had a wonderful experience on the Penang: Flexible Half-Day Escapes tour. A huge compliment to our guide and driver, Mr. Law Hock Chye, who was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and very accommodating — especially since we were travelling with two seniors and a small baby. He tailored the itinerary perfectly to suit our group’s needs. We especially enjoyed our visit to the Pinang Peranakan Mansion, and even though it was raining, the comfortable car tour around George Town allowed us to learn so much about Penang’s rich history. We also appreciated the stop at The Guan Yin Temple, where we could pay our respects and make wishes for family blessings. Communication via WhatsApp before the tour was excellent, and Mr. Law even walked us back to the embarkation point for our return to the ship — such thoughtful service! Overall, 5-star service from both the tour guide and the company. We will definitely book again when we return to Penang for a longer stay!

Our tour guide Lester was caring, enthusiastic & knowledgeable. He brought us to Penang Hill where our 3 & 1/2 year old son thoroughly enjoyed the furnicular ride up & down the hill. The views from the top were breathtaking! Along the way in our private car, Lester shared quite a few inside stories about Penang’s history with us.
