Description

So on your first trip to Oahu, a trip to the Pearl Harbour site is something of a must do. We took a tour due to not having a hire car, and it was definitely something we would recommend making the effort to visit. The main site with the USS Arizona memorial is very well delivered, with a good balance of things to see and prompts for quiet reflection. We also visited the USS Missouri site around the corner which was also well worth seeing. The only reason for not rating this tour better is that it just felt like it needed to be a bit longer. Presumably there are longer tours out there but this felt like it should have been long enough with a 8am pickup and 3pm drop off. However a chunk of this time is spent visiting the military cemetery which was a bit out of the way before heading to Pearl Harbour, so the time there wasn’t really long enough to feel like you covered everything you really wanted to. This wasn’t helped by the food truck at the Missouri having a long and slow line which meant lunch took 45 minutes out of the itinerary. As a result we had to skip seeing the sub at the Arizona site and rather rushed around the Missouri which was a shame. Art, our guide, was great though, with lots of knowledge and good humour through the day. If you don’t have a car then the tour is ok but look at the itinerary, duration and things you want to spend time exploring carefully so you pick the best tour for you. Given everyone explores differently at this kind of site, it does probably work better under your own steam if you want to go at your own pace, although you do miss out on the guides knowledge that way. Pearl Harbour itself is one not to miss though, however you choose to do it
An absolute must do. Perfect. Our tour guide Rocky , a retired school teacher was extremely knowledgable. He was very articulate and cheerful with a great attitude. Enjoyed his tour very much. Excellent job!
Pearl Harbor is our number one travel experience. Great mix of history, family, and stories that bring this experience home for us. Kanoi is a great tour guide mixing stories and empathy, and getting to know us as her extended Ohana 🤗
It was amazing! 🤩 Such an awesome experience. Our tour guide was great, he knew so much about the area. I would say rhat I would have liked a little more time to eat but the U.S.S. Missouri battleship tour took most of the time.
The Pearl Harbor tour was really nice as many of my family members are veterans. However, beware that you will be charged for every little thing. For example you have to pay seven dollars per bag to check it in even if you check in multiple bags together they charge per bag. Also you have to pay to get into different parts of the tour that were separate from what we had already paid for. Our bus driver was very friendly and knowledgeable, but it seems he was just reading from a script.
A moving visit. A definite trip if visiting Oahu
Ray did an excellent job taking care of us!
Excellent tour. Summer was an amazing tour guide and looked after us well. Both parts of the tour were great, and we enjoyed the drive around Honolulu afterwards.
This was so worth it! Our guide Charlie was very knowledgeable and fun to talk with. The memorial is a very somber and sobering visit. Never forget!! The tour of the Missouri was very informative as well and so crazy to see how our Navy boys live on a ship. Bob was our guide and he was very personable and knowledgeable as well.
This did Not include the Battleship Missouri for some reason. We were done with Pearl Harbor around noon.
