Our tour took approximately 12 hours total. Here are my thoughts: 1. Although Tara park is beautiful I would not recommend taking a tour of this length or cost to get there. I would say that the park and associated side trips are worth seeing, but not worth getting there. 2. Our driver Darko was friendly, but did not have detailed knowledge of the sites and history. For example at the last stop (Mecavnik) I said this was built specifically to film a movie as that is what I recalled the itinerary had mentioned. He said no it was built as a resort for a film festival. If he had read the itinerary he would have known this basic fact. This is only one of several times when asked about something we fact checked on Wikipedia and found out the info was wrong. 3. The car was a small sedan that had many dings and dents on it. It was not clean. Also since he had converted the car to LNG the cars sensors thought it was running low on fuel and gave an audible beep every 60 seconds (we timed it). 4. The driver kept his window cracked open and when asked would close it, but after each stop would crack it again with out asking. Generally it was not a comfortable experience as the trip was very long and there were periods of uncomfortable silence.
Dear Denise, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We genuinely value every review, as it helps us improve and better serve our future guests. We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t fully meet your expectations. Tara National Park is indeed a long day trip from Belgrade, and while we believe the natural beauty and cultural stops are worth the journey, we understand that the length and travel time may not be ideal for everyone. Regarding your comments about the guide, Željko (not Darko) is known for being friendly and professional, but we take your point seriously and will continue working with our team to improve the accuracy and depth of the information shared during tours. Just to clarify — Mećavnik was built during the filming of Life is a Miracle, but not specifically for the movie. Emir Kusturica was inspired by the area and decided to create a resort that would also serve as a venue for cultural events, including film and music festivals. Also, it’s possible that the description of Mećavnik in the “Tour Overview” on Viator may have contributed to some confusion — unfortunately, that content is written by Viator and not by us, so we are unable to modify or correct it directly. We also appreciate your feedback on the vehicle condition and the LPG system alert — this has been noted, and we are in the process of reviewing and updating our fleet to ensure a more comfortable ride for all future guests. Finally, your comment about the open window and general comfort is important to us. We’ve addressed this with the driver and will continue to focus on improving the overall experience, especially during long tours like this one. Once again, thank you for your honest review. While we regret that this tour didn’t fully meet your expectations, we hope you still found some enjoyment in exploring the unique landscapes and culture of western Serbia. Warm regards, Tours From Belgrade team
Amazing sights sooo worth taking the journey, and Roger was a phenomenal guide - you rarely get such an educated, engaged and lovely person to be your travel companion... I can wholeheartedly recommend!
We had a great day trip to Tara national park, visiting multiple interesting places. We had the tour with the great Brazilian tour guide Roger. He was very helpful and could drop us in Uzice, so we did not had to go back to Belgrade. He also explained a lot about the sight and Serbia. He also showed a place where a festival would come up and gave some more info. This was a great tour and I definitely recommend on going this to see more of Serbia!
Thanks Thomas! :)
Me and my friend had a great day in Tara with tour guide Vladimir. He was very informative about the area. Best part of the day was visiting Banjska rock at Tara mountain. His friend prepared lunch for us and he even invited us to his family home for some rakija. Driver Goran was also very nice! The drive from Belgrade is long. Although it was worth it its probably better to do atleast a 2 day tour.
Thanks you for the wonderful words!
The day trip was amazing and very easy and confortable. We had a super day thanks to our guide Who was charming and funny. I recommend this visit 200%>
We had a wonderful 9 days trip with Darko , it was one of the greatest vacations I ever had. Wonderful nature and most important a wonderful tour guide which made our vacation a DREAM!
We had two days trip to Tara national park and Uvac with our AMAZING guide Darko. Darko picked us from the hotel in a 4x4 car, his English is great, he introduced and explained to us lots of things in Belgrade city while driving to our first stop, we stopped in beautiful viewpoints along the way to take some photos, he was very patient and took pictures of us enjoying the sites. The sites were astonishing, the driving was ok, we took a boat ride in the lake and slept in a nice and clean accommodation, ate traditional food, and had lots of information and fun. We highly recommend Tours from Belgrade, and especially Darko! Thanks for an amazing time during this rough year :)
Thanks a million, it was a pleasure hosting you in Serbia :)
