This was a nice little trip getting to know the Embera indians of Panamw
Thank you very much for sharing your experience! I’m delighted you enjoyed learning about the Emberá community and their traditions. Visiting them is always a special opportunity to connect with Panama’s living culture, and I’m glad it added a unique touch to your trip. Your kind words mean a lot, and I look forward to guiding you again to discover even more of Panama’s wonders.
The experience was amazing, Denis the tour guide picked me from the Hotel at an agreed time he even had water for us Imagine ! We headed to Embere tribe in style, lets say the experience was smooth from start to finish . He understands the Embere culture and gave tips in general of Panama .
My wife would give this tour 6 out of 5 stars! First of all, our tour guide Mike H. was punctual, friendly, professional, patient, and INCREDIBLY knowledgeable about everything we saw not only on the drive out to the Embera tour but also the tour itself. Got a lot of info on the neighborhoods we saw along the drive, historic sites, construction projects, public transit options and activities, the significant road networks, and even local schools and churches. Also got preview info on the Panama indigenous tribes and where they’re located. Would highly, highly, highly recommend this tour with him as a guide as a top of the list attraction while visiting the Panama City area. The visit to the falls exceeded expectations. And the visit to the Embera village was also top notch. We found the indigenous tribe to be every bit as authentic as the they were allowed to be. Their strict commitment to their customs and way of life was admirable. So the tour itself was the highlight of our Panamanian vacation. That said, prep instructions for the tour were non-existent for us. There weren’t any instructions on the itinerary, what to wear or bring, and/or what we should be prepared to experience. As a result, we weren’t wearing our swim suits when we should have been. And we weren’t prepared to carry all of our stuff with us, which we ended up having to do, which made the hike to the falls a little more interesting. And we were prepared-ish for the moderate hike through slippery paths, rocky terrace, and streams with sharp rocks and uneven walking surfaces (necessary because of low water levels that may have surprised everyone), but that was only because we were lucky enough to have worn sturdy water shoes. People who were wearing flip flops or slides, older people, and young kids were struggling! They weren’t in our group but we saw them in passing. But be advised that that hike isn’t for everyone, and you don’t know if you have to do it until they park the canoe short of the falls. So be prepared. But if you’re flexible and prepared, get ready for a great experience.
This tour is a must do, omg it was Rich with cultural experiences you get to meet and learn about the indigenous peoples. The offer food and fruits during the tour and dancing for you which was the highlight of the tour . Definitely would do it again.
It was a great adventure. Dennis was our guide. We saw a beautiful waterfall and visited the indigenous village. It was a great experience.
Omg this was the best tour I did in panama it offers a variety of activities. You get to swim at the false the boat ride was smooth and relaxing but the culture tour was very educational and the food was delicious, our guide was good. Omg the children was to die for and in the end they did a lil dance and allow u to dance with them. Definitely should be on your itinerary.
We had the most amazing magical experience touring the Embera village with Dennis. Not only was the trip insightful but Dennis was professional, friendly, knowledgeable about panama and the Embera. I would definitely recommend! He also provides the transportation to and from and is flexible with pick up and drop off times. Just an amazing experience!
