La maison-tour en ruine du XVe siècle située dans le parc de la maison Hopetoun a été utilisée pour les prises de vue extérieures de la maison familiale de Jamie Fraser, Lallybroch.
Ce "navire qui n'a jamais navigué", se dressant dans le Firth of Forth, est une forteresse du XVe siècle utilisée comme quartier général de Black Jack Randalls à Fort William.
À l’origine, la maison du duc d’Albany et des comtes de Moray est aujourd’hui l’un des lieux de tournage les plus célèbres d’Écosse, sinon le plus célèbre. Utilisé pour presque toutes les scènes de châteaux dans Monty Pythons "Holy Graal" et Elizabeth Taylors "Ivanhoe", il est maintenant plus connu comme le décor original du château de Winterfell dans Game of Thrones et du château de Leoch, le clan des Mackenzie dans Outlander .
Comme ce musée historique vivant est utilisé comme la ville fictive de Crainsmuir, vous pouvez vous promener dans le jardin d'herbes aromatiques de Clare et autour de la croix de Mercat.
Le village de Falkland se remplit bien à Inverness dans les années 1940, alors surveillez le fantôme de Jamie ..... Le palais et les jardins de Falkland étaient les hébergements préférés de la famille Royal Stewart, en particulier une jeune Mary Queen of Scots qui errait sur le terrain et l'un des plus anciens courts de tennis de Grande-Bretagne.

Sean was wonderful!! He was so patient, knowledgeable, and fun! He took us to additional places not listed just so we could see everything we wanted! This was our favorite thing we did in Scotland!

This was a very enjoyable day away from Edinburgh to see some of the Outlander film locations. Tam was a great tour guide and went above and beyond to make the day a wonderful experience. Particularly loved the visit to Falkland at the end of the day. Thanks Tam!

Beryl picked us up on time at the agreed meeting point in a comfortable Mercedes. Then we got coffee together and our journey could begin. Our journey was accompanied by Beryl's stories and information about Edinburgh and Scotland. Very informative and, because there were only two of us travelling, also detailed. Our first stop was: Midhope Castle or Lallybroch. Because we had started early, we were lucky and had Lallybroch almost to ourselves. Of course we had to take pictures of everything and Beryl was happy to help us with that too. The second stop was at Blackness Castle or, for Outlander fans, Fort William. A great "film set" on the Firth of Forth. The journey continued from Linlithgow via Falkirk, past the famous Kelpies, to Doune. As the name of the place says, so is the castle, Doune Castle, or Leoch Castle, the seat of the MacKenzie clan. The journey then took us, hungry, to "The Woodside" in Doune, which Beryl had chosen for us and which she highly recommends. Well fortified, Beryl led us through the Glendevon Valley, a beautiful Scottish landscape. The next highlight was Falkland, or: Inverness in Outlander. A typical Scottish town where "Mrs. Baird's B&B can be found". After a short drive, we reached Dysart Harbour, which served as the backdrop for Le Havre. A short walk along the harbour and we unfortunately had to make our way back. Beryl's family was waiting for her and the way back to Edinburgh, at the end of the working day, was waiting for all of us. With a coffee stop on the way, we reached the Scottish capital safely and soundly. My conclusion: a great day, packed with Outlander, which Beryl organized and carried out brilliantly. I can highly recommend her and TRIPorganiser Scotland.

Der zweite Halt beim Blackness Castle oder Fort William war sicherlich ein toller Ort für Outlanderfans und bot eine beeindruckende Filmkulisse am Firth of Forth. Unsere Weiterfahrt führte uns über Linlithgow und Falkirk, vorbei an den berühmten Kelpies, nach Doune, wo wir das Doune Castle oder die Burg Leoch besuchten. Es freut mich zu hören, dass euch das von mir ausgewählte Restaurant "The Woodside" in Doune gefallen hat. Die Fahrt durch das Glendevon Tal bot sicherlich eine atemberaubende schottische Landschaft, und Falkland als das Inverness in Outlander war sicherlich ein weiteres Highlight. Der Besuch des Dysart Harbour als Kulisse für Le Havre rundete den Tag ab, bevor wir leider den Rückweg antreten mussten. Ich kann Ihnen versichern, dass eure Zufriedenheit und Sicherheit für mich immer oberste Priorität haben. Sean was a great guide and my wife and I loved seeing where Outlander was filmed. One of the sites (Midhope) is closed on Tues and Weds so keep that in mind if you are booking on those days.
