Overall, the castle itself was worth visiting, but I'm not so sure about the guided tour of the castle, and to be honest, if we had it to do over again, we would probably skip the guided tour and just purchase the general admission tickets offered at the castle. We might also consider adding the audio-guided tour instead. For our family, we felt there was quite a bit of standing around and listening to facts and information that weren’t necessarily related to the castle itself and weren’t of particular interest to us. While the guide was knowledgeable, we found that the tour didn’t hold our interest as much as we had hoped.
Hard to hear, a wee bit long winded and lots of standing while listening to “stories” before being left to tour on your own. We enjoyed exploring on your own after the “tour” part was complete.
Great tour! James was full of knowledge and wit, we had a great time and learned alot. A must-do when in Edinburgh 👌🙂
The Castle looms majestically above the city making it a must see. Laura was excellent and the team helped me tremendously.
We booked this tour because the tickets were sold out for the castle, and this was the only way to get in. But we ended up living the tour and our tour guide, and we were so happy we did it. I actually can't imagine doing the castle without this tour because you would miss so.much of the history and lore. Our guide, David, was knowledgeable,, friendly and really passionate about Scotland.
We loved this tour. It was a great way to get introduced to the rich history and fascinating stories in and around the castle. Our guide, Amelie, was insightful, funny, and super informed.
