Les Portugais arrivèrent ici en 1510 un DEr leur commandant Afonso de Albuquerque, et capturèrent la ville à Adil Shah, le souverain du royaume de Bijapur. Ils sont venus en Orient à la recherche de commerce et pour finalement répandre le christianisme. Dans notre promenade du patrimoine Old Goa, explorez certains des bâtiments les plus importants historiquement. Old Goa est un site du patrimoine mondial abritant quelques-unes des plus grandes et plus anciennes églises de la région. Excellent tour of old Goa. Our guide Yashasvi (Yash) was outstanding. She’s a history buff not just limited to Goa which was helpful to gain a wider perspective. She also had useful tips on areas and aspects not covered by the tour. The pace was just right and the weather was kind to us! I strongly recommend this tour for an insight into medieval Goan history and ask for Yash, of course.

I happened to be the only person on the tour, but Calvin made me feel completely at ease from the very beginning. He was friendly, respectful, and easy to talk to, so it felt more like exploring the city with a knowledgeable local than being on a formal tour. What really stood out was his incredible knowledge.
