Description

I'm not a birder and this is the first birdwatching tour I've ever joined, simply because it seems to be a must-do activity. Felix is very experienced. For pretty much all tours we joined in Costa Rica, the tourguide carries a giant telescope, but Felix is the quickest in setting up the telescope at the right position, and helping us to take great photos and videos from our mobiles. He and another two gentlemen from Louisiana also shared with us two apps commonly used among birders. We ended up the tour with over 5 hours and seeing 40+ birds. I'm so inspired that I'm sure this won't be my last birdwatching tour.
I’m a birdwatcher and have always wanted to see the beautiful Resplendent Quetzal here. I booked this tour, and surprisingly, I ended up being the only person—so it became a private tour! Although there was a bit of confusion when we first met, Felix is an extremely professional, attentive, enthusiastic, and friendly guide. He took me to see a pair of Resplendent Quetzals, Three-wattled Bellbird, toucans, and more than 50 other bird species (including those heard). We also saw peccary, and Side-striped palm-pit. He knows the area incredibly well and can identify many birds just by their calls. Thanks to that, we spotted a Resplendent Quetzal that hadn’t been seen by anyone for days—and it even took a bath! It was a perfect experience. If you’re coming birdwatching here, I highly recommend him! Tips: I suggest downloading the Viator app, otherwise you might miss notifications. It would also be helpful if the tour could contact guests by email to ensure important information is properly communicated.
The best guide we've had so far. Felix is a professional and has a lot of fun explaining and showing you the fauna and especially the birds. I couldn't count how many birds he showed us. If a bird tour, it's definitely with Felix.
Felix was very knowledgable and kept our 2 teens interested which is a true feat. We saw over40 species of birds including the elusive Respendant Questzal. Highly recommend this tour for any birder novice or more advanced.
We spend 4 fantastic hours with Felix watching birds in the Monteverde Forest. Felix knows everything about the birds in Monteverde. And everything means everything: songs, calls,…. Absolutely perfect if you want to learn as much as possible about the birds in Monteverde. And on top of that he is a very nice character. It’s fun to spend some time with him👍
We did a night tour and a half day trip with Felix, and he was by far the best guide that we had during our stay in Costa Rica. I wish I had him with us for all of our tours. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of the birds, mammals, reptiles and insects of the area. He was diligent at tracking down animals that he heard. He was great helping us get good photos through his scope too. Highly recommended.
We loved our half day birding tour with Felix at Curi Cancha reserve on December 16 2022. Felix is an enthusiastic and talented guide who is also very personable and patient. He responds very fast to communication for any tour questions and quotes, and sincerely tries to give you the best experience possible. On our tour we saw an armadillo, pit viper snake, many species of beautiful hummingbirds, and an emerald toucanet among the highlights. We cannot imagine anyone regretting booking with Felix and we whole heartedly recommend his services.
