Great sunset zodiac trip. We saw transient orca pod with our amazing captain Kai. He did a great job finding a pod of transient orca and explaining everything we saw around us. Great experience with a great guide! Thank you!

We really enjoyed our whale watching trip with Springtide. It was well organised, our guide Morgan gave us lots of helpful information and we were delighted to actually see some Orca. The trip certainly lived up to our expectations.

Within a few minutes of leaving the dock we encountered a family of Orca’s (Killer Whales) so one should be prepared with cameras / phones immediately! Then quite a long fast trip out in the ocean to see seals, sea lions, otters and a bald eagle. Then a humpback whale came and did multiple breaches before the killer whales came up to see what all the noise was about! I’m not sure how typical our trip was to see so much wildlife but I suspect we saw more of the whales than normal in a 3hours long trip. The rest of the wildlife were on a rocky outcrop island so it’s probably a normal spot for the boats to go to. A great trip and experience.

Well done crew! The entire excursion was meaningful and crew was/ is more than willing to chat all things nature! Had such peaceful seas and we did see orca matrilines and a humpback whale, Scuttles. We are left with one burning question. What are those inflated dancing “men” on the docks??? Crew are currently researching, Standing by for their findings!! Hahaha!

There are several different tour operators in Victoria, and we chose Springtide because: 1. They have affordable rates. 2. They have amazing pictures where you can see they truly find wildlife on every trip. 3. We liked the option of a larger enclosed vessel. 4. They have a whale 🐳 of a guarantee, but with 95% success, you are nearly certain to see whales on any trip. 5. They've been at this for 33 years. Now, they also offer the "exciting" zodiac tours for those who wish for that adventure. They may not have the flashiest vessels on the Salish Sea, but you are guaranteed a competent crew, and we absolutely loved the included photo package they offer.
