Votre voyage commence par une visite du fort historique de Nizwa et du souk animé de Nizwa, suivie d'un arrêt au charmant village d'Al Hamra. De là, vous monterez au Jebel Shams, connu sous le nom de Grand Canyon d'Oman, où vous profiterez d'un arrêt photo panoramique au sommet (pas de randonnée). Après avoir admiré la vue imprenable sur la montagne, vous retournerez à Mascate. Veuillez noter: Le circuit Jebel Shams est la plus longue excursion d'une journée en Oman, offrant certains des paysages de montagne les plus spectaculaires du pays.

Ramassez n'importe où dans la région de Mascate puis conduisez de Mascate à Nizwa prendra environ 2 heures
Nizwa Souq, un marché local qui propose une variété de produits, notamment des bijoux, de la poterie, du poisson et de la viande. La liste continue! Après, nous partons pour Al Hamra pour visiter le village où nous découvrons comment les habitants créent un style de vie dans les temps anciens. Après cette visite rapide, nous passons à Misfah al Abryeen, un village vraiment vierge niché au pied du Jebel Shams. Ici, vous pourrez voir le grand système d'eau de Falaj qui alimente en eau la végétation voisine. Il existe de nombreux sentiers balisés dans tout le village qu'il est recommandé de prendre son temps et d'explorer.
Nous quittons Mascate pour Nizwa, l'ancienne capitale d'Oman. Nous visitons la célèbre forteresse de Nizwa. Aujourd'hui, le fort est un musée qui présente l'histoire du fort et des environs. En vous promenant dans la forteresse, vous aurez une vue imprenable sur l'ancienne ville et les montagnes voisines. Cette impressionnante forteresse était une base utilisée par l'armée pour repousser les attaques et les sièges les plus durs.
Depuis le village d'al hamra, vous monterez jusqu'à Jebel Shams, connu sous le nom de Grand Canyon d'Oman, où vous profiterez d'un arrêt photo panoramique au sommet (pas de randonnée). Après avoir admiré la vue imprenable sur la montagne, vous retournerez à Mascate. Nous nous dirigerons ensuite vers la montagne Jebel Shams. Ensuite, nous vous emmènerons faire un petit tour dans un petit musée du petit village ancien d'AL Hamra. Les habitants vous montreront le mode de vie traditionnel omanais dans le village, entre autres routines.
Après le voyage, profitez d'une route panoramique de retour à Mascate, qui dure environ 3 heures.

I had a great day, travelling alone. Mohammed was an excellent guide, very informative. We left Muscat at 7am and arrived in Nizwa in time to catch the end of the Friday goat market - well worth seeing. The souq was interesting and helpful to have a guide then sufficient time to look round the fort. The drive to the canyon view point is spectacular as is the canyon, amazing views. The village of Al Hamra is well worth visiting, more beautiful views and interesting fauna and irrigation system. Lunch was excellent at a local restaurant, reasonably priced. Altogether an excellent day, we were out for 11 hours.

We went on a wonderful trip to Nizwa and Jebel Shams with our perfect guide Said Al kiyumi. Said told us a lot of interesting information on our way and during sightseeing. Also he took some great pictures of us. We didn't rush through sights but rather comfortably explored the area. This full day trip is totally worth the money as the nature and the historical heritage are spectacular. It is hard to visit Jebel Shams on your own so it is better to go with an experienced driver and a prepared car for a safe ride. It was an amazing experience. Said Al Kiyumi texted the day before to introduce himself. He arrived promptly in a clean, luxurious, air conditioned car, well stocked with bottled water. On our way to Nizwa he gave us the historical details about the fort and soqu. He’s well spoken, witty and with a good sense of humor. He anticipated our needs and ensured we saw all the sights ; never feeling rushed. We look forward to exploring more of Oman with him.
