Thank you very much to Libby, a wonderful walking tour through the Garden District. Libby has a vast amount of knowledge and shared information on the history of the area, architectural features and the social history of New Orleans over the last three centuries. Libby is engaging and has an impressive storytelling style, the two hours flew by. Based on our discussions during the tour, she messaged me the following day with a book suggestion for further reading which I was able to secure to take home with me. The day before I did a walking tour of French Quarter with one of her colleagues. The groups are small and I highly recommend Lucky Bean Tours when looking for walking tours in New Orleans.
Libby was such a great guide. She found out what the group was interested in and where we were from and made sure to highlight those interests or make connections with where we were from if possible. Gave it a personal touch. You can tell she loves her city and knows a lot of inside baseball about the way the neighborhoods and communities work and connect to each other both historically and currently. Learned so much and had a great time!
Go Criollos! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this great review and share pictures. I so enjoyed walking with you through the Garden District and making all those important connections to ALL of your places. We love it when our guests are happy on our tour but also leave feeling that they’ve learned something about this important culture. I hope you make it back to New Orleans and that you walk with me through the French Quarter or another of our historic neighborhoods. See you then! Libby
The walking tour of the garden district is an absolute must! Our tour guide Erin was amazing, so full of knowledge & just super friendly. Seeing the architecture of the houses & all the history behind it made this tour worth it!
Thank you so much for taking the time to sing Erin’s praises for her Garden District tour! She is a kind, friendly, knowledgeable, local – ideal for showing guests around this lush, historic neighborhood. Please join us for a tour next time you make it to New Orleans! Libby
Erin was a great guide! The tour was a great way to see and learn about the Garden District in a short time! I only had the day to explore so I’m glad I got to see a bit outside the French Quarter. Erin was very knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the area
Thank you for this fantastic review! Erin is such a knowledgeable, kind, and funny local guide. We, too, are so happy that you stepped outside of the French Quarter to see more of what New Orleans has to offer. Please come again! Libby
Erin was amazing! So knowledgeable and delightful! Thank you for the wonderful afternoon! This tour was on my bucket list and I made the right choice going with this company.
Thank you so much for this incredible review of your Garden District tour with Erin. We are so happy that it was everything you had hoped it would be. Erin is a kind and knowledgeable guide and we are so happy to have her giving tours with Lucky Bean Tours. Please come again! Libby
I absolutely loved this Garden District walking tour! I learned so much about the neighborhood, its rich history, unique culture, and the fascinating stories that make this area of New Orleans so special. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and genuinely sweet. She brought the Garden District to life through her engaging storytelling and happily answered every single one of my questions...and I had a lot! Her passion for the city was contagious, and it made the experience feel personal and immersive. I especially loved learning about the different architectural styles throughout the neighborhood and hearing about the famous and historical figures who lived in many of the beautiful homes we passed. It gave me a whole new appreciation for the area and everything I was seeing. If you're visiting New Orleans and want to truly understand the Garden District beyond its beautiful streets and mansions, I can't recommend this tour enough. It was informative, entertaining, and one of the highlights of my trip!
Wow! Thank you for taking the time to leave this detailed praise of our Garden District tour! This review may bump us up a notch on TripAdvisor, and will definitely bring us more guests with whom we can dive into the fascinating history and culture of New Orleans. The neighborhood does most of the work for us by being so beautiful and obviously steeped in history, but it is our pleasure (maybe our obsession) to dive into the stories behind the locations. We welcome you next time you’re in New Orleans and everyone who heeds your advice to walk with us. See “all y’all” then! Libby
An extraordinary experience. In the hottest part of the year, coming out for only my wife and I, Libby was absolutely wonderful. Truly a wealth of knowledge. From city general history to the architectural stylings of every home and it's past, to the former owners and their own stories. It was remarkable and Libby always kept it interesting. A highlight of our New Orleans visit!
Well, my review of YOUR review is also “amazing!“ Thank you so much for taking the time to not only give us such a high rating, but to leave details about what you loved of the tour. A beautiful house is a beautiful house, but when you look closer and learn the stories of its past occupants and what was important to them, it becomes a container of history and culture. I’m so happy that you enjoyed our walk through the Garden District, and I hope your entire time in New Orleans was fun and memorable. Please come again! I mean it! Libby
Yvonne did an excellent job! She had a good sense of humor and kept our attention throughout. We learned a lot of fun facts and historical bits that we’re grateful for. Would highly recommend this tour!
Thank you so much for helping out our small company with this fantastic review! Yvonne is a wonderful tour guide, the Garden District is lovely, and we hope everyone who reads your review joins us for a walk through history. Please join us for another walk through one of our historic neighborhoods when you make it back to New Orleans. Libby
Great walk through a beautiful neighborhood. Our guide Lesley was very knowledgeable about the area, and she kept the group engaged, and in the shade!
Thank you so much for this fantastic review! Lesley deserves praise for her knowledge and storytelling abilities, but also for her ability to find shade! The Garden District is such a special neighborhood and is a must-see for every visitor to New Orleans. Thank you for choosing us to show you around! Libby
Libby was great! So knowledgeable and passionate about new orleans. Great mix of stories and history. We took a few tours in NOLA and this was one of the best!
Thank you! It really was my pleasure to walk around with you and talk about this interesting neighborhood. The houses are beautiful, but the stories behind them make it all the more interesting, in addition to the way the Garden District fits into the history of the city has a whole. I could go on all day! I hope you join me for another walk next time you come to my city. Libby
